Long story short: I "ordered" 2 991's last year through parallelcircuit and none of them got delivered. Both times I ordered a sunroof. Now, on the Jubi, I don't think a sunroof fits. It would just seem awkward to me to ruin the lines with a sunroof so I didn't order one.

Bart, THANKS very much. The graphite gray looks great in your pics. I feel much better about my first choice. Looking forward to placing an order.

A quick question for Brett at Sonnen. It is my understanding the no dealers in the US have been given their allocation or build dates. Are you placing orders for your clients or taking orders?

Both colors look stunning and are special colors which will remain special over the years, look at the viola on the 964 Jubi...
Cancelling your 50-jahre in order to get a plain model with a plain color like red, yellow or blue is lunacy! But hey, that's just me!

Thank you very much for the pictures, Bart. I'm still convinced that I'll be very happy with the graphite gray. But I must say that I'm starting to like the geyser more and more. I actually feel a bit sated with metallic colors, but the geyser suits the lines of the car and the chrome trim very well. Nice!

Both graphite and geyser have not been available 1963, but two colors very much alike. Graphite is, as mentioned here before, close to the historic slate gray, geyser looks anlot like the (non metallic) ivory, which can be seen here: http://bringatrailer.com/2011/01/29/...7-porsche-911/

I would'nt go for the glass sunroof on a 911 50. Even though I could imagine the combo geyser/black would look good, but the modern appearance of the glass sunroof could compromise the classic look of the edition.

ISUK - did your dealer provide this "spray out"? Did they do it or did it come from the factory?
Just wondering about the accuracy of this because it looks different from previous images. Thx
My dealer obtained a standard spray out card from the factory which had the paint formula on the back which he let me have for a couple of days. I took this to my body shop along with the little car model which is intended for the purpose of showing how light reflects off various surfaces on a car and had them paint it. It is an exact match to the paint swatch from the factory.

.....
This description is spot on. Under bright sunlight the graphite grey does look much lighter and more of a battleship grey. In fading light/indoors it starts to look much darker.

We have already received our first two allocations for October builds and December delivery. I built my clients car yesterday in Graphite Grey and my other client is going to Pebble Beach to confirm his color choice. I have one slot left for 50th anniversary cars as we are only getting 5 total and we now have 4 on order.

ISUK could we trouble you to take picture of your paint sample in varying light conditions and post them here. This might help many potentials buyers visualize the difference you see in graphite grey.

Thank you.

Here are some more taken in different lighting conditions which show how the colour changes.

Very nice, thanks ISUK! I prefere the look of the gray on these pictures. Thanks god I won't drive my car in artificial light on a wooden surface... :-)

There is one little oddity to report since my last talk to tmy salesman. He told me that he saw a 911 50 in Zuffenhausen that was painted in a golden color. If this is true, it could be good news to the ones that want PTS. (If the color he saw was geyser under a yellowish light, it could be bad news for my confidence in his expertise.)

Thank you ISUK. This further confirms my impression of the look of the graphite grey. I am imagining the car as having a sporty color in the daytime: somewhat like the black-grey 997 GT3 RS and a more elegant dark grey in the evening.

Thanks ISUK. The effort you put into those extra pictures is much appreciated.

These are the first good undoctored still photos of the color in bright sunlight. Along with the German TV video that also showed the car in natural light, I'm getting a lot more comfortable with graphite. A plain gray is not what I would have picked for myself under other circumstances, but I'm really liking how this particular one looks outdoors. Amongst all the many variants of dark gray on the road, I think this graphite will stand out and grab attention, especially with the 911_50 embellishments.

By the way, I also really liked the interior in black and silver thread when I saw it in Zuffenhausen. Had I gone PTS, I would have picked natural brown leathers. But the black and pepita for the 911_50 is terrific.

ISUK- thanks very much for your effort to take and post these pictures. Great job. These pics along with the ones posted by Bart have convinced me that the graphite gray is stunning. A very interesting and unique color (did not think that I would say this about a gray).
