Default Guards red vs. racing yellow

I placed my new carrera s order with following options it will arrive by feb 2012:

PDK
Auto dimming mirror
sports chrono plus
sportdesign steering wheel
floor mats
yachting blue partial leather seats(interior)

I am torn between red and yellow on exterior color. Picked guards red but I still have time to finalize color Any suggestions thoughts? It seems no matter which I go with I will still want the other color.

Both great colours but I'd pair each with black interior. Yellow better with blue and red a no-no for me with the blue. But heck, it's your car. You may regret asking what other people like. Do they all get to drive and enjoy? Hell no. So buy for you and you alone.

both colors are great! that's the problem, I can't decide which to take, can't have both. Agree that yellow goes better with blue, but i did match a yachting blue sample with red and it went ok.

Great exterior colors. But, a blue leather interior will prove challenging upon resale, if that concerns you.

Resale is a concern 3 yrs down the road. But this blue is a dark one, almost navy so not very different from black. Why would that pose a challenge on resale?

I'm with the others...it'd just be a very hard to find the next buyer for a yellow or red car with a blue interior, and the dealership is going to take this into account when pricing your trade-in (or, if you're selling it yourself, you might struggle unnecessarily in finding potential buyers). White, silver or dark grey seem to be about the only exterior colors where a blue interior isn't considered a huge drawback.

I am told that yachting blue is a brand new color for the carrera so how can one predict its resale potential when presumably there haven't been carrera's in the used car market with this color? Also help needed red or yellow exterior?

Most popular exterior colors are shades of Silvers and Greys, followed closely by Black and White. Then there would be shades of Blues, and colors like Reds and Yellows filling in the remainder. There is a poll around here on Rennlist somewhere.

It is also model specific, too. Hard to make generalizations.

A great color to have & own is not always the best color to sell and trade as used.

Well, Yachting Blue sounds a lot like other blue leathers Porsche has used. It's just marketing with the actual choosen name.

Pick the color combos you like and enjoy. Don't worry about resale, if that's a position you are comfortable with. Make yourself happy first. Color is a very personal choice.

Does yellow stay cleaner than red? i.e. does red get dirty more easily a bit like black?

I'd say a color like Speed Yellow would stay cleaner then Guards Red. And GR would stay cleaner than any black car.
