I just bumped the thread for you.

Worked like a charm.

thank you so much for this. This was about 80% of my research. Great piece of work.

And the NAV 2023/24 update, had nothing to do with the OBD2 programmer. It was done with a simple SD card. I have bumped the thread.

What is the free nav updates? Is that done with your think diag or are you referring to MIB? If with your think diag, I saw something about the need to deactivate production mode before coding the pcm. If so, can that be done with a think diag?

If you come across any errors or have any additional “hacks” that should be added to this guide, please message us on the 718 forum. You could also try sending me a message on this forum.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you. If there was a way to do this with your thinkdiag, I was interested in learning more. I am familiar with MIB.

If anyone wants to know more about MIB, check out this link:

https://github.com/Mr-MIBonk/M.I.B._...-install-M.I.B

I haven't used it but from what I have read, it enables car play, android auto, video in motion (VIM), Wifi and Nav (including nav updates) on PCM4 systems.

100% correct. The updated map has nothing to do with OBD coding. We used my car to create MIB AIO. I would be interested to see if you can enable the MAP in cluster with ThinkDiag. Lot of coding between 982 and 991 are similar because they share the same modules

Outstanding write-up. Even better than the version I looked at online.

And to answer your question on the last page: TSZ = Transistor-Spulenzuendung (German) = Transistor Coil Ignition (TCI) in English.Hope that helps your last hack.

I am both excited and sad after reading all these posts

I have been down with covid for 4 days, ever since I received my Samsung A7 lite and thinkdiag module

Reading @Frankfurt1470 's post makes me wonder if I will be able to do all that, without seeing screenshots and any directions I feel like I would be lost. (But may be the APP is more intuitive than I expect)

Looking forward to getting better and trying this

Once you understand how the program/app/software is designed, it is really easy. Almost too easy. I just added the oil-4-segment reading and HVAC Memory by Key in under 1 Minute. Just keep the write up and/or this thread on hand to make sure you switch the correct options.

Thank you for that but now I am more confused. What kind of comfort functions would there be regarding the transistor coil ignition? The code is the Comfort Functions via Door Lock which I thought was Komfortfunktion Ueber TSZ on the PIWIS. Any idea what this code does? I have changed it to yes and can't figure out what it does.

I thought in order to make changes to the PCM, production mode on the PCM needs to be deactivated. If that is correct, is it possible to deactivate production mode with an X431 or can that only be done with PIWIS? If it can, what are the steps?

If this is controlled by the door handle, look at the door module also. I did not see any reference to TSZ there only one setting for Convertible Top Control

No. If you make any change with PIWIS in the PCM, your PCM screen might go dark and go to Production Mode. To get the screen back to normal you need to disable Production Mode after you apply your changes. I have seen this on 80% of the car that I coded. It might be different with X431 or ThinkDiag

In that case, there is only one other TSZ abbreviation that I can find: Tuerschliesszentrale (Door Locking Center), but so far I was unaware of that being used in the automotive world, I know it more for buildings, i.e. central locking for "real" doors or smoke vents. But I am no automotive engineer, so it's possible.

For turning on Multi Function Steering wheels (991.2) where it was retrofitted (compatible parts need to be installed)

System Selection -> Steering Wheel Electronic -> Code/brush Hiding -> Rule Coding -> Coding value -> Coding value_MF Steering wheel ->Click on this and change from "NO" to "YES"

This is great. I just got a 991.1S convertible and I've been reading non-stop on upgrades and diag tools for two weeks. I just ordered a unit from the thinkcar website that was listed here. I was just about to order a smart top module so I'm hoping coding can get me most of what I'm looking for which is top up/down from keyfob. I'll also try to add anything else I find once I get this up and running.

Question for the members that have already used this. Does the IOS app have a limited number of functions for the same Thinkdiag hardware when compared to the andriod app?
