Can attest that the open frunk without unlocking doors does work. I could not follow the steps as per the PDF, so I did a search using 'lid" and was able to write the code.

Note: writing this code does work - with the frunk open the doors remain locked. However, the flashing "locked" red light goes off, even though door is locked.

Hi folks.
Any worthwhile differences between the Original Thinkdiag and the Thinkdiag2 (other than twice the price)?
Thank you

This website compares the two. I don’t see anything that makes it worth the extra cost. Let me know if anyone disagrees.

Hello - A couple of questions:
1. I'm confused by some of the pricing shown on the website. As I understand, it comes with one year of updates. But after that year the following applies?
Per reset service/$49.95/year works for multi cars. Per software for one car model/$39.95/year, $70/year with full software.
You can select any of the manufacturer software in ThinkStore, and you can use them for free for one year.
Manufacturer Software Price for Each: $39.95/year
Reset Software Price for Each: $49.95/year
What do they mean by "per reset service" vs "per software"?

2. I have a 2017 C2S. That is the last year that shows up in the Coverage page. So it won't work for later model years?

Thanks.

Has anyone found how to eliminate the Sound Symposer? Do we have a Sound Imposer?

There are kits you can buy to disable it. You can also remove the bulkhead and plug the hole with a sock (or something else) to drown out the sound entering the cabin.

A user on the 718 forum suggested that there may be coding to disable it but I haven’t seen anyone who has identified it yet. Here is the post:

I am installing PSE on my car with the exhaust button in the center console. Does anyone know if the thinkdiag can set that button to work or is that something that is beyond this? It would be cheaper to order this tool than take it to the dealer to set that up, but I am thinking that this can't do things like that.

Question for you. Do you have 991.1S? If so did you just replace center muffler? Did you just install PSE button or did you have run any new cables, valves or vacuum lines?

Joserpaq, I have a 981. I will be installing the entire PSE system. The mufflers, valves, vacuum lines, cables, switch, and will need to program it.

So I've been playing with coding to see what other options could be added to my 991.1S non SC. I installed a SC stopwatch and turned on SC in AC and PCM then programmed the PASM button to turn on SC but no dice. Seams like even if I changed the button assignment in the "AC" section the button continues to control the original item it was set to operate. I thought maybe this was due to the code that is needed to active SC in PCM and AC according to others that have done this using PIWIS. After some additional reading I thought I'd try to program one of the existing buttons to program Sport exhaust to operate the COV valves even if it's on my non PSE center muffler. I can operate the valves in thinkdiag by actuating them but when I assinged "sports exhaust" to the auto on/off button location it didn't work. Any idea on how to move around the button functions on the switch console using coding?

Just a quick thank you for everyone that has contributed their findings in this thread. I finally got around to coding my 991.1 GTS last week. Most of the items weren't too exciting, but the steering change is worth the price of admission without a doubt. One of the best (cheap) mods for the 991.1 imo.
