Seems like some dealerships are able to get the car back on the road quickly with a simple reset of the VTS system. Without actually replacing the module?

asellus, while your willing to stand hard on whats NOT causing this failure your not willing to say what is
Yeah, that's usually how diagnosis works. Given the limited data we have, as well as possessing a modicum of common sense and sanity, I can make the statements I have made.
I've actually listed numerous things that it could be. In light of the recent post here, add "another software glitch" to the list if I haven't already said that.

Is anyone concerned about driving the car somewhere that would result in an awkward tow hook up? What a weird number of failures that result in a non drive able car.
Are there different VTS units where some can be reprogrammed while others have to be replaced? Or is it a case where techs don't know how to reprogram or scam customers to replace?

Hard to imagine Porsche would blindly send replacement units to dealers without ensuring they first attempted to reprogram the unit.
I know they tried to reprogram something on my unit because they tried whileI was there and couldn’t get WiFi signal as the car was still outside on their lot after getting towed.
They apparently tried the next morning after getting the car inside and weren’t able to reprogram then either.
Can someone explain exactly what the suspect VTS Control Unit does, why it's in the car and is it part of an option or something else? Oh, does it have multiple functions?
Update - VTS unit replaced. 3G replaced by 4G version. 1 week turn around from the dealer
Hi there, given my car is going to be worked on tomorrow, I'm curious if you know what they did to replace it. Mainly, I'm curious if they had to remove the entire dash?
If VTS was being replaced as well as 3G with 4G, it seems to lead credence to the fact that the 3Gsunset was part of the issue?
Glad to hear that this issue is being dealt with a lot faster than previously anticipated.
Not at all. The 3G module part has been superceded by the 4G module. Think of it like a water pump failure -- you would want them to put in the latest and greatest part, right? Same with any (compatible) module.
