Inflation is 3.0% last month.....
Expect prices to rice, and inventory to remain low all year due to Microprocessors on new 992's.
Porsche just raised 992 pricing $2,000 due to increase commodity cost.

Checked Main line in PA as they normally have dozens of cars to choose from new and used - they have 1 new and 2 used.

Wow.
Exactly- I bought mine from Main Line, and have noticed for YEARS how they consistently have pretty much the best inventory situation in the mid-Atlantic.

They are fighting for scraps these days.

Default Looking for that Unicorn 991.1 S

I got mine!!!! No Sport Chrono....were I still looking, I'd be checking Mannheim Auctions. Not open to the public....so you'll have to figure out how to gain access. I have a friend whose local dealer gave him his password....this stop sell is a boon for private sellers and for non-Porsche dealerships.

Just stop, this isn't economics class so reducing this conversation to investments speculation is a waste of everyone's thought cycles. Keep in mind I'm not disagreeing with you, it's just not worth talking about at length in this context.

I think to put a cap on it, you're basically proving everyone's point. Let's just agree that you CAN get more money for your luxury items for the reasons you claim (because STONKS)- but that would just give you more money to buy what? OH, probably other inflated luxury items. The net-net doesn't change.

You have more money but things cost more.

Now, back to discussing interesting things like cars...

Ha, my car buying process started two years ago with an AP2 S2K. Prices were very strong and going up (as an aside, they’re in the mid to high 20s these days. Nuts.) so I said why don’t I just spend a little more and get a 987.2 Boxster. Then it was why don’t I just get a 981. Then a 997.2. Now here I am at 991.1 and I’m so set on getting my unicorn color and spec that I may end up spending $80k more than when I was looking at an S2K!

You know things are scarce when CarMax can't even get one car in it's nationwide inventory.

The 991 market has always been expected to appreciate after the end of its depreciation curve. It just arrived sooner and at a higher velocity

I've been pondering this myself recently. A few good ones (reliable/sporty and not too old) under $50k include the Civic Type R (looks aside, the car is an absolute blast to throw into corners), Golf R (more fun than you'd think), Miata (always fun), New Supra lightly used (very tunable), Chevy SS (with LS3, though these are going up and up now especially with manual), Veloster N (never driven one but hear good things).

There are just so many good cars right now that are priced well above where they should be in today's market.

I would add base 981 with a manual to that list. Amazing value and a driver's car (not for red light Grand Prix Fans)

Default I have a 19golf R and

May trade for the new 400Z. Not as practical as the R but a lot better looking. Plus japanese cost of ownership is almost free.

There was one at Carmax (2012 Cab C2S PDK) offered at 63k that I put hold on it for a week but then decided I want a 7MT so car got released and noticed immediately they raised the price for 68.5k when it was back in market. It didn’t last 1 hout and car already sold to someone (I know it sold because I asked sales representative who I was working with).

This is truly crazy market that car doesn’t last 1 hour in inventory!

Good point, I didn't include the 370 because that's ancient but the 400Z seems like it will be a real winner. I would have snuck in GT350 mustang if it weren't for the reliability concerns, hell of a fun car though and they are a bargain used now.

Edit: Speaking of Japanese cars, the new BRZ and Toyota 86 look great too (the new releases have really gone under the radar, and I loved my old BRZ tuned and running on E85 to help the torque output).

This one seems fairly priced[/sarcasm]...and it's a manual.
