The video from a Porsche tech at Loeber that is a few posts previous to this one says 3.1.

FWIW, I last drove the car (2015 GTS) on Tuesday and had not noticed any spontaneous reboots. I just returned from an hour out, and still looking good. Fingers crossed that I missed the bad update and it is now pulled and corrected.

Both 2015 Carrera S and 2018 Macan S do not reboot. Both have Sirius/XM active.

I have a '14 Panamera Turbo S that is stored in a garage where the XM Radio satellite signal is blocked. The car has been in the garage for the last week or so until I pulled it out today. Today I drove the car for about 90 minutes with no issue of the PCM rebooting. Everything in the PCM worked as it should. I'm hoping the PCM didn't receive the corrupt signal when it was stored in the garage and this issue has been averted. There may be hope for those of you that store your car in a location where the satellite signal is blocked.

Edit: Just to be clear I do subscribe to XM.

Not sure if it matters which is first, but I was successful with doing the handoff reset after the quick (Info button only) reset.
I did it the ay you recommended in a different thread. It worked great, thanks. My wife just purchased a 2015 Cayenne Diesel, had it a month, just had it detailed for the first time and then the PCM started rebooting. Didn't take long to figure out it didn't have anything to do with the detail. Just relieved it didn't cost a fortune.

I had to do this today when my PCM started going on and off. Unless it’s just a coincidence… It also drained my battery over the last three days.

Seems like it might not just be 991.1 cars.

Just a wild guess, but it appears that whoever was in charge of Sirius QA on this software push only tested it against later series PCMs and failed to make sure older series PCMs would accept the change.

Somebody needs to walk the plank for this one.

Drove my ‘18 911 GTS 200 miles today, no PCM problems, thankfully.

My 991.1 is stored inside with a trickle charger and locked. I haven't had It out since before this started.

Anyone else in the same situation taken their car in the last 24 hours out and NOT have the issue affect them?

I have a 2014 991.1 S with s/w version 4.76 but I don’t have XM subscription. The PCM has been fine for me when I took it out several times within the past 3 days. I will take it out again today to verify again.

Anyone else with a 991.1 S without any issues?

My 991.1 is stored in a garage. I drove it on Friday. No issues with the PCM.

Took my car out for a 2 hr drive today. I had no PCM issues. Car has been in the garage since the Sirrius Virus started. Note: I never subscribed to Sirrius and I never took the free month listen, so maybe this has something to do with it?. But I have also heard that people have had no issues on the first drive, but then have had the virus on their second drive. I don't know why Sirrius or Porsche or whomever cannot send a fix OTA. They caused the problem, they should fix it.
