I received an email from XM on Friday advertising a 3 month free trial for having my Porsche serviced recently. It asked me to confirm my email and to start my free trial. Thank goodness I saw it on Rennlist otherwise I might have clicked on the link. Love Rennlist.

Yes, I've been thinking about doing this if the rebooting rears its ugly head again on my car and Porsche doesn't figure out a permanent fix.
I'm curious on the folks who have had it come back.....did they log in to Sirius and send a refresh signal? That's what I did, and it hasn't returned. Drove the car today for about an hour without any issues after performing the reset on Friday.

Did my reset of Friday. Took all of ten minutes. That included reset (2X), repairing my phone (BT), and refreshing the XM. Problem has not returned. Too much trouble to attempt disconnecting antennas etc. Just do the reset per the Porsche manual.

I stopped XM over a year ago in both 991 & E350. I was driving to/from the beach the other day in E350 and my wife said something was going on with the FM radio. She thought I had done something to it. I'll go check both cars now.

XM are known to give good deals if you call in. They will come back with a lower rate if you say it is too expensive and if you push back again 2x, even lower.
Fixed mine yesterday with the handover reset. Called Siri’s/xm today to cancel and give them a piece of my mind. They were fully aware of the hassle and problem, apologetic, and offered 6 months free all access. I’m a sucker for free I guess, so I took it, didn’t cancel. Curses, “just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.”

Same for us. I have gotten them to just give it to me for a year at a pop. Been with them since 2004.

I think the only way to do that would be to crack open the PCM and remove the Sirius card inside. The inside of your PCM is like a mini computer. Sirius is the card on top. Check out the CarPlay threads for details with pictures.

Hopefully there is a permanent fix and we don't have to start exploring drastic solutions like disconnecting the sat antenna, etc.
