PCM Issue with recent iOS Update?

Tweet them for this PCM issue
@SiriusXm. @Porsche Believe me, they hate when this stuff gets into social media. This is terribly irresponsible of both companies in particular Porsche and frankly distracting while driving. How do you not test this push by Sirius first?? Good for everyone fixing the issue but Porsche enthusiasts should expect more from a luxury automaker.

This worked for me on one try. This specific post contains a critical clarification over some previous posts that did not fix my PCM. Yesterday I tried posts that had me do the "lesser" reset; not the full "handover" reset that clears all settings and puts the PCM back to factory settings. Unfortunately, that is the one you need to perform. After yesterday's failures with the small reset, I first drove the car this morning to see if the Sirius XM gods had smiled and sent down a fix. Within a 1/2 mile the first reboot occurred, two more happened before I got back to my driveway. I then did the full "handover" reset, which takes noticably longer and clearly does more than the minor resets I tried yesterday. Once the SAT signal returned and the radio was operational, I drove again. I covered the same path as before when I saw 3 reboots, with no reboots. I then tripled the distance and still no reboots. I do believe this fixes the issue. Now on to re-pairing the phone and finding out what else was cleared with the "handover" reset.

Still waiting for a call from my dealer, the car is there and, as of 2:30pm yesterday, they hadn't yet heard from Porsche as to what to do to fix this problem.
As always Rennlist is faster and knows more, surprise!!

Ha! I was just thinking about the other people who don't use the forum calling into the dealers for a fix. Bet the dealers are going nuts with this! 🤣

Thank goodness for Rennlist! I had this issue 3 years ago back in my 997 and the PCM was actually fried. Or was it? I thought the same thing happened to my Turbo yesterday. I was super relieved to find out that it was just this XM issue.

Fixed mine yesterday with the handover reset. Called Siri’s/xm today to cancel and give them a piece of my mind. They were fully aware of the hassle and problem, apologetic, and offered 6 months free all access. I’m a sucker for free I guess, so I took it, didn’t cancel. Curses, “just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.”

Gives you an idea as to how easy it can be to hack you car. Really bad PR for Porsche to let this through and causing so many issues for you client base. Shame on you Porsche.
