So I was excited and planned out a nice long cruise. Over 2.5 hours! I was going to report back on a positive note...literally 10 mins from my house I get a error code relating to the Front Axle Lift. I was unable to operate the FAL. I pulled over, restarted car, the error went away and came back on a few moments later. To pull into my driveway safely I restarted car in front of my house and tucked it away.
I guess this module is just not going to work with my car. Its a shame.

Reach out to them directly. They fixed the FAL issue quite a long time ago.
Yep, sounds like you bought an early version since you bought used. New ones should work fine with your car. There was lots of discussion on this as they sorted it out if you dig into older posts.
Hope it’s just a software fix! I have nothing but amazing things to say about mine.

Interesting because I downloaded the latest calibration file from the site and it is the V3. I checked all that. Will reach out regardless. Thanks!
So this is where I'm at when I tried to update the firmware.
From the looks of it, the firmware is outdated. Version 981 2.0 from 6-18-10. There appears to be a 2019 update.
Oddly enough, when I got to DSC Utility, under 'Type" it says 981.
I noticed on the side of the DSC Sport module, someone wrote 981/991 with a sharpie.
What differentiates the 991.1 vs 991.s DSC Sport modules?
I tried to update the latest 991.2 file, and it gives me an error right away.
The person I purchased from the car confirmed the module worked perfectly in his 2018 GT3. I am confused why I am having trouble here but based on the fast I cant seem to upload a 991.2 firmware update it has me wondering whats going on.
Hopefully someone experienced enough can chime and an easily spot whats wrong here.
Looking for a little help trying to figure out whats wrong. I have a 2019 GTS.
Picked up a used DSC V3 module from a fellow RL member who had it installed in the 991.2 GT3. Prior to installing the module I downloaded the DSC Tuner. I watched the videos and followed instructions on how to install the calibration files. Opened and selected the 'TOUR" file. I did "write all". Saved and exited.
I installed the module easily. Went for a drive, and noticed the PDCC light was turning on and off by itself after I activated it. Looking at the screen when I press the button it would not always say "Sport chassis selected" - very odd behavior.
Went back home and redid the calibration upload. Before leaving, I tested inside the garage. With the car in park, PDDC was activating properly every time. Phew...nice!
Went for a drive again. Same odd behavior. Its as if the PDCC will not stay on. It will turn on and sometimes blink every once in awhile. As far as I know, the chassis is in normal mode.
Any idea what to troubleshoot? Emailed the guys over at DSC but it is the weekend and don't expect too much. I would love to get it sorted out so I can test this over the weekend =)
Any help is appreciated.

The reason why you are having issues is because this used controller is not coded for 991.2 cars. Unfortunately there are risks when buying a used item since there's no warranty/support. Hopefully the hardware is in good working condition so that it can be coded correctly for your car. Our service department can code the controller and install updates for you. The controller must be sent in for service and there is service fee. Please contact us for service details if you wish to proceed. Email: info@dscsport.com Tel: 410-799-7798
Are those who have installed the dsc v3 unit seeing improved lap times at their de-track days or other track events?
if there is any improvement how much?
Usually Yes. More stable and more grip during braking and cornering.
How much improvement depends on the layout and length of the track, and the driver's skill level. Even if the driver prefers not to push the envelope to the increased grip level the car is still more stable(more planted) than before on track.

Thanks for your time. This will go back to the seller.
On a side note, I am very familiar with the software now!

I would love to know some before and after lap times that some of your happy customers have logged.
Apologies if this question is already asked — do 991.1 owners get additional benefits out of a V3? Or should they go with the V2?
Both 991.1 and 991.2 cars benefit from DSC controller. If you are the market for a controller I recommend buying a new V3 from us with warranty and support. Forget about V2 they have been discontinued for three years and unsupported.
