Hard to say I guess. If it wasn't some advantage in lap time I doubt it would be on the GT cars. That said I have experienced some oddities on track in GT3's when it changes from being opposite to being in phase. I've talked to other drivers who have caught that too. It's not super common because you need to exploit it in a transition from slower speed tight turn to higher speed. I would think most of the time it's a system the average driver won't notice, and lessens the tendencies of rear engine behavior. For a car like the T I like that I feel the weight transfer and rear engine. I love having to massage a 911 into a turn and then use the rear weight as you unwind and ease throttle earlier than one can in a front engine car. You lose some of that experience with RAS. Though to your point, you're probably picking up some speed by not having to sort out those dynamics. And on topic with the thread I present to a dirty T running errands..
This.
I have definitely felt some weirdness with the RAS, but it doesn't happen all the time. It just keeps me on my toes and hasn't bitten me yet. If I hadn't been spoiled by Cayman driving (that excellent top spinning momentum when cornering) and had ever really driven 911s to the point I was comfy with the bias, then I might have opted to keep it pure. But RAS was too much of a draw for me. Maybe PTV would have been enough had I test drove a T without RAS, but I didn't and I was hooked from the moment the key was turned and I hit the first turn on a round about...
So I’ve decided to sell my T- I need more space and apparently not so good showing up to clients in a Porsche 911- haha. If anyone’s interested PM me- 19 T, Manual, 15k mi, GT silver, T interior, sport chrono, Techart springs, full front PPF, DSC, APR Stg1. $112k.
But- what to get? What cars have you driven that brings the thrill of a T but is more under the radar and has 4 doors? I’m thinking E63? M5? Possibly a Macan (I think that’s a bit flashier being a ‘Porsche’)

Macan GTS owner here. The Macan GTS is great, and as far as crossovers go and will be enjoyable on a twisty road. However, if your thrill comes from canyon carving or track driving, it's not a substitute.
I get what you're saying about showing up at clients with a 'fancy' car but there are very few true 'Q-Ships' any more. Maybe a Golf R, a Kia Stinger or a CTS-V? Or just keep your 911, get an Accord for client meetings, and park it on the street.
^^Unfortunately you are asking a bunch of T enthusiasts which would probably only trade for a MT GT3 touring and that’s about it. I agree I’d do my best to keep the T and buy a run around/work car that suits your business. Example: I have 5 kids and I bought a minivan because it suits my family requirements best. It also makes the T that much more enjoyable and plus it also let me reason that LWBS were a go! If you’re not attached to the car someone will be soon but if it were me I’d always wish I still had one of those original Carrera Ts.

I have a Tacoma (and will be replacing it with a Cybertruck if they ever make it out of the factory...) and that has been a great second vehicle for all sorts of duties. A nice truck would work great for what you are proposing and it won't feel bad about being left out all night.
[Still should probably sell… and buy that vacation home.. but that home is just as overpriced rn as used 991 prices]
In #becauseracecar news… i finally installed my race wheels. Looks great! I even switched the Ferodo pads from street/track DS2500 to the track DS1.11!!! Anyone from Seattle PCA going to be at ORP this weekend?
Those wheels look amazing! I’d love to get those with 19 inch in the front and 20 in the rears. How. I have lighter are they than the stock ones on the T..
^sorry…. I had the wheels in my garage all winter/spring and never weighed them. I’ll get the scales out and weigh the regular OEM Carrera S set and update the thread at the end of track season.

I hear you on that. I was hoping for some Porsche owners sharing what their ‘other’ cars that bring them joy to drive. It’s different asking an enthusiast vs normal folk- and since as Porsche owners we have similar taste, I figure why not

The other car that is a joy to drive is my 2003 C4S that I found on eBay for just under $32K. People are surprised that I didn’t pay more since they think it looks much more “expensive”. It’s just a really fun car to drive and nothing fancy about it. But maybe your non car enthusiast clients will think otherwise.

well, in that case my last vehicle was my second favorite to the T, a 2014 CTS-V wagon with a MT. Very unassuming but an incredible car with tons of personality. Tough to find but it’s worth it.
