Default Carrera T

Trade in Carrera T

Got new Spyder
Trade in my beloved T and pick up new 718 Spyder.
T was very lovely car , I got it new and put 15k fun mi on it , finally after 2 years I figured out that turbo engine is not in harmony with manual transmission. Got Spyder and just after first 50 mi I understand NA beauty. Even my wife mention that Spyder is much “softer” and much more smooth and gears changing Michel easier and not as jokey as T, even with the bucket seats.
i guess GT suspension with 6 spd. MT and NA engine is the gem. Feel bad selling my T but very excited about new car.
i modified my T trying to come closer to GT cars and Spyder actually is good to go out of the box , needs nothing.

Default Guards Red is a match!

does anyone have/use the porsche 5MM spacer kit? i'm starting to feel like my wheels look weirdly inset to the fender.

Not answering your question directly, but there are a lot of opinions on this. I agree the stock setup is too far inset. Especially on the fronts.

The fronts need at least 10mm in my opinion, and can easily handle 12mm. I think @Cyberbug even went to 17mm, which added a touch of poke.

The rears can handle 3mm spacers easy, 5mm is doable and some push to 7mm.

Lichtfield motors in UK did 7mm on all four corners to keep the front v. rear offsets consistent with the factory setup.

I think if you did 5mm all around it would improve the look, but the fronts would be lacking versus the very flush rear.

5mm front and rear....agree that 8-10 mm on front would fill out better, but sticking with these for now.

I ended up with 22mm (11 each side) added to the front track without spacers and therefore without altering scrub radius using shims on GT3 lower arms. Not bothered doing anything with rears but if I did then would go 5mm OEM Porsche spacers.

Is this at OEM ride height?

Yes, OEM 5mm's here. Rear is perfect and front could use another 2-3mm, but overall looks good. Advantage of OEM over others is that it comes with wheel locks.

thanks for all the comments. i'd only go OEM and equal front to rear as to maintain the factory track width proportionately. will probably order them.

5mm front and rear. Surprised at how much more the fronts kick up from just 5mm.

Have any of you guys found a source for the Carrera T side strips in a color other than the grey that came on the car.
