Was for sale at a dealer in Montreal (Prestige Porsche) so had to deal with the hassle of importing it, although to be honest it hasn't been that bad of a process as long as you're patient. Plus, I live in the midwest so it wasn't like I was trying to drive in Jan and Feb anyway.
Previous owner had basically mothballed it and traded it in on a new 992.
The color is right! But the usage is wrong!!! Get on it, you have some catching up to do.
@matthewlesko, Congrats on a great car and having the patience for the importation/shipping process. As an ex-resident of Illinois, I’d be interested in your feedback regarding the registration and titling process of a Canadian market car with the “friendly folks” at the IL Secretary of State, once you pass that milepost.
I posted this in the "Carrera T Picture Thread," but thought I ought to post here as well. Today I picked up my Guards Red 2018 Carrera T at the dealer. I traded in my 2014 Boxster S. I've been searching for a Carrera T for a while, and it feels great to finally have it!
It's not a "purist" build, but I like it. PDK, RAS, Glass Sunroof, 18 Way Seats. After having manual transmission sports cars for decades, I thought it was time to try a PDK. I'd have been fine with no sunroof and with 4-way seats (can't handle getting out of the LWBS!). But the extra light from the sunroof is nice. And the 18-ways certainly fit their name of "adaptive." I've never had a red car before. Thought it was time!
My first time on back roads this afternoon. It's great! RAS really makes it turn in quickly. I'm coming from Cayman/Boxster world (although I once had a 997.2 C4), and I really wanted sharp handling. It wasn't easy finding a RAS equipped car without LWBS. I also came across a lot of black cars. I used to have a black Cayman R, and I found the color difficult to live with - although when it had just been washed it looked awesome. This time, I debated between Racing Yellow and Guards Red. Both are bold. I finally decided Guards Red was bold enough!
I only have these photos that I took at the dealership. As the weather improves, I'll get some more interesting photos outside and post them.
Beautiful day in New England. Took the Carrera T out for its first extended drive on the back roads. This barn seemed like a great place to take a few more photos.
I'm about to join the party and am pretty excited. Trading my 718 GT4 in for a T as I just missed having a 911, the GT4 is a remarkable machine but a bit too compromised for my tastes.
Just sharing my excitement here as my T is currently in the shop getting a GIAC tune, TechArt springs, BMC Air Filter, oil change and BG Forged wheels. its going to be a great summer!
