Hmmm...just tried to check the oil on my "new" .1. I was wondering why it was giving me a message saying it couldn't measure. Oil was up to temp, car running while on flat surface (in garage). It sounds as if I may have inherited this gremlin as well?
Sometimes it does that. Give it a day or two of driving and it should start to show the measurement.

Dealer in Vancouver has indicated to me that this 'issue' is prevalent across a few years of cars. Currently, the 'yellow' warning light is on (overfilled) and the dealer has indicated to ignore it until the spring when it warms up... I have removed about .5 liter, light went off, then came back.
They eluded to the possibility a 'fix' was coming, and acknowledged they were aware of the problem.
swapped out side skirts for the wider RS side skirts, had them sanded smooth (they come textured from Porsche) and painted high gloss black to match the existing trim

I did the same. Bought the .2 RS skirts, painted Gloss Black, had the covered with Xpel Ultimate Plus and the CQuartz coated.

God, do I hate warning lamps I cannot address.
I have never had the overfill warning on this car but did on my last one right after an oil change. I JUST had my yearly oil change last week and what I do is have them put in only 7 quarts of oil. I then slowly over a few weeks add 4 to 8 ounces at a time until it gets near the top. I never shoot for the highest of the high positions, just near the top.
I like both cause you can see the beautiful interior, love the white on red!

Thanks...I didn't think I'd like carrera red interior but it grew on me with my wife's white on red 981 S.
Even better in the 991 with the two tone black/red interior. The black tones it down just enough...and It makes what can be a somewhat "muted" 991, a tad more more interesting IMO.
Even with the tint, in person, you can still see the red interior.
