Took her in to get drivers door glass replaced - AUD$ 941 all up which I thought reasonable - 2 hrs labour. Had a mishap coming off ramps and door clipped garage frame shattering glass into a thousand pieces 😳 - lucky window tint film held it mostly together so I was able to lift out the shattered glass and dump it 🙄

Well as you asked 🥴

The top of the door trim got ripped up at right angles over the last 3cm - i managed to bend this back (mostly!) There was some scuffing of the end of door trim also. I was advised the black leather and carbon trim door card would be AU$9481 😵😵‍💫😧 so I'm going to do some endo surgery on the door and repairs on the leather see if I can return it to pristine 🙃

Find a high end interior shop. Check who the local supercar dealers use. Those guys can perform amazing work, to at the point you may not be able to tell it was ever damaged. That, or start searching scrap yards or Ebay for used.

That really is a **** off, painful to see.

I have had Frank, at exclusive option, redo the center console on my 996 in leather. He did a helluva job, looks very good as new....

Default 187mph

Engine intake scoop on the decklid flew off at 187mph. Was a beautiful piece. What a shame!!

That sucks, did it damage the wing?

Sounds like a warranty claim....

Well, the interesting thing about the scoop flying off is that at least you know it was definitely directing air into the intake.

No thankfully, in the mirror it looked like a rocket booster detaching from a space shuttle and flying off into the abyss. It popped off and banked hard to the left. The trajectory looked like a curveball. This was not an OEM part so no warranty claim unfortunately. When it was installed it was nice and snug. I did break a tab while removing the stock white one, so not sure how that will seat.

Good job, you'll be the only one that ever even notices the repair.
