Chris -- that ride looks great. I have only done Tam on road. Would love to join you for a ride.

Considering a little walkabout. Maybe another Coast to Coast trip is in order. Stopped in for some essentials today just in case.

Yup, me! If shots haven't worked and you have a symptomatic displaced meniscal tear...you probably need a knee arthroscopy and have the fragment removed.

I am now paranoid. I check for tenderness, swelling and any abnormality after ride. nothing. no swelling or tenderness. only soreness during rides especially during the cycle when thigh is parallel with pavement it doesn’t bother me per se just feel different. well
the slowness does bother me a bit lol.

Reverting back to look cleats ? The red ones are the ones I use as well. Quite a bit of float.

Prefer Speedplay Frog Ti pedals for both road and MTB. Unrestricted rotation so super knee-friendly, one of the lightest pedals out there, rebuildable, and cleat makes walking a breeze.

I love the speedplays. Switched over from dura-ace a few years ago and wish i had done it sooner - mash and go.

Another Speedplay fan. Was primarily a Look Keo/red cleat rider, but dealing with a tear in my MCL and Quad tendon and switched over to the Speedplay X system on a few of my bikes. Definitely a smooth/stress free unclipping process, and all the float you need while riding. Surgery at the end of the month and plan on riding with this set up for awhile during the recovery process.

Too much float can also be a bad thing. My knees actually never agreed with Speedplays, I tried both the Frogs on the MTB and the X on the road. It both cases it led to outside knee pain. Switched back to SPD and Look about 10 years ago and never looked back.

I love the speed plays. I have a wonky knee movement on the bike and the play helps me out

Another SpeedPlay Zero rider. I started with their "beginner" pedals which had MASSIVE float. Good introduction to clipping in but after about 2 months, I didn't like them due to excessive float. Moved to the Zero's with progressively less and less float. Have done a bunch of centuries and have never had need or foot pain. Good enough for me. Hoping to do my first double C this year.

PS: I think I have the Marin rides planned for March. Basically both of THE iconic rides for our area. I doubt the Italy and/or RL crew will be disappointed.
