the middle step for fuel delivery between Carbs, MFI, and finally EFI.
It's not really desired on the long hoods. it runs perfectly well, but it's not really a 'performance' oriented injection system. most will replace for MFI or carbs. Was used through the early 80s when they changed to motronic EFI.
And Mooty is right, no matter the starting point on these long hoods, if you want them "nice" (not concourse type either) they are 150+ ... it's lame. But they are fun, and they do look good!

Thx! That’s what bat comments were saying about that brown one. All original, pristine, concours condition. I think 150+ was mentioned too. Previous recent auction on same car didn’t meet reserve at 120. Now sold for 77. Have no idea how this longhood mkt works, whether a car goes for 70 or 200. Seems that marketing BS and presentation matter, too.
Nah. For example, my 993 C4 cab needed belts. I gave it a service, but it did not really need it and did a couple cosmetic things. You may have to look at a few to find a good one, but I have looked at a couple 964 cabs around $40k that needed very little (valve cover gaskets which you have off to adjust the valves anyway, a few cosmetic things, service up to date). Of course, if you want to replace the suspension and do a top end because you think it needs it, then yes, they will need serious work. My experience is that cabs tend to lead a much easier life than coupes and it shows in condition. And the roached out ones get parted for the drivetrain.
Oh, C4 and cabs... yeah, so that's like a 20-30k difference from a c2 coupe.
Having driven many, many examples, the c4 and cabs do not drive anything like the c2 coupes... the c4 coupe is close, but front end feels heavy.
993 are totally different, the 964 and 993 prices have completely flip flopped. You can great great 993 for much less than 964 $ now. That wasn't true 18mo ago.
