HAPPY New Year to all

spent the morning cleaning the cave. Chinese superstition: get all the cleaning done before new year, do not work on the first of the year...

spent the afternoon clean bike, new pads, new tires, new tubes... the sport tourism on the background is for sal 2018 < 7000 miles one owner. 130k MSRP, ask 80. E-hybrid
Good job Mooty, what will you do b4 Chinese NY? Clean again? :-)

the Japanese share this superstition. Wife was on a cleaning frenzy the last 2 days....

Morning drive in my '94 Turbo -it was a mere 0F!
nice turbo. No vault. They want too much $ for that :-) I’ve been to the vault before during a private luft event. Some nice machinery there, but mostly just parked and not displayed... it’s quite an operation they have in the basement for doing maintenance and restoration work.

Mooty

What did you do to your knee? I'm facing one possibly two replacements caused by arthritis .. forced me to sell my GT3 as I couldn't get out without pain. I am riding a stationary bike at least five days a week to strengthen the muscles should they have to cut . Reluctant and procrastinating as at 77 the healing process is long no matter how good your physical condition. By the way no matter how fast I peddle I cannot get that stationary bike to move

Jack
mooty filled in details on his knee bug earlier this thread, but I imagine your problem related to many years of being fast on rudder pedals and lots of high g time in the air 😬
he hasn’t had quite enuf time to wear everything out yet

For healthy joints, drop grains and carbs (inflammation, glycation) and many plants (crystalization; google “oxalates”). Eat meat.

f4 plt:

Google ‘minimally invasive total knee replacement’. I walked out of the hospital using a cane for support just 5 hours after leaving the OR.

Oh and for the people interested in the cars for sale, I saw that 964RS up close. It's great. Somehow it attracted me more than the very rare 993GT3RS.
thx, recovering is good but still not 100%
you know cars. 964RS 993RS... the only cars I will take over them is CGT and 4.0... all the rest..meh.... I don't keep cars longer than 12 or so months. if I kept one that long. BUY it.

the infection was on the pre-patella bursa. MRSA
they cut and removed bursa then clean out

for every good one there is a bad one. I have a 78 year old friend, also retired AF that had one done 6 months ago and it is still swollen and sore. I applaud your friend for if they do mine they are going to do them both at one time and be done with it .. want to get back to doing things

^ the risks:

some ppl have rare auto immune issues that become evident after surgery. my surgeon showed me some pic ... let's just say, you may have flown over Vietnam, but the pic will still make you vomit. but that is rare.

most ppl I know with knee replacement had good results.

another risk is your surgical site gets infected, which is not that uncommon, then you have to have another surgery to clean out the infection. I only play doctor on RL, so pls discuss with your surgeon, they will fill you in on the plus and minus..

I'm very careful, keeping use and wear and tear to an absolute minimum.
OEM parts for me only please.
