Every semi reliable bit of info has indicated it will be an option like Clubsport, meaning its the same list for all GT3s.

^ Which is strange both because big wings are synonymous with the GT brand, and because Porsche loves to have every iteration as a separate model...

Might be strange but on top of rumors there was that screen capture of the German configurator that called out Clubsport not being compatible with the Touring package option.

Models seem to be broken down by engine/drivetrain/convertible in most cases--Carrera, Carrera S, C4, C4S, C GTS, C4 GTS for the normal 911 line.

Having aero, or even which areo, is an option within a model. I remember for my GTS there were 3 options--none, ducktail, and a full wing.

R ..perfect.

I have my PDK GT3.2 coming in July and have secured a build slot for a manual Touring in January 2018.

What does "Touring" include and exclude?

Take a look at the PET catalog for any previous 964/993/996/997 GT3 and/or RS (going back to 1989) and search for M002/I002 (touring) and M003/I003 (clubsport). Porsche has been remarkably consistent with what they include/exclude between the normal, touring and clubsport editions. I don't see why they would change their playbook for this go-round?

Not sure this is all that applicable- for the 964: "In addition to the basic lightweight model the Carrera RS was available with option M002 Touring package. With this came dual mass flywheel, standard wiring, sports seats instead of buckets, regular doorpanels, rear window heating, electric windows, alarm, central locking, interior lights, electric mirrors, full trunk carpeting, sound deadening, undercoating, large windshield washer bottle etc. making it 100 kg / 220 lb heavier (almost as heavy as the Carrera 2). In addition for the Touring model the AC, seat heating, radio, headlamp wash and sunroof were optionally available. The Touring version was a poser's car - 'RS' on the rear lid, but basically a Carrera 2 with harsh suspension."
Seems like by this definition the GT3 is already essentially a posture's car.

Personally I want the wing delete option, possibly with a ducktail. Not only does it make the car a sleeper and dramatically improve "cop watch" rear visibility but it's a nod to Porsche's history (like the manual and n/a engine). I might be giving up a fraction of a second through the slalom at the autocross but I'm not entirely convinced.

Rear seats I could take or leave. With the proper kit you can bolt a car seat in either way if needed, so that would be my preference. Then again the weight penalty is likely less than most expect, and those ticking the headlight, leather and sound system boxes are unwittingly adding as much weight or more.

Everything else mentioned (sunroof, raised suspension, more sound deadening, etc) I have zero interest in. Keep it please.

Is 'Touring' an option on a GT3 or a separate 991 variant?

4.0 NA 9,000 RPM or 3.0T?

Per postings on RT (European forum) the wingless touring package is not confirmed and may not be due to high speed stability issues w/o the wing, 911R production notwithstanding. So it does not seem like we are waiting for the details of a done deal here.
