Just spoke with a local dealer here in CA and they told me they received 4 more allocations but want $10k over for being a new customer. They also noted that I had to be local to receive the allocation and all dealers in the area are asking more than that if they have any more allocations. Such BS.

All be patient. There will be more rounds. Same BS with the .1 GT3/RS. Porsche is notorious for trickling them out.

Yes- looks like 2nd round announced but more will come.

Welcome to RL, Husaberg44. I hope you enjoy your stay, and contribute veracity and insight for many years to come. Thank you for the news, but I will not jump one way or the other until I see posts with V200 codes, build dates and order numbers. Perhaps you should choose one among the many options your dealer is giving you, and post specifics?

GM:Joe I did get my second round of GT3 allocations only had 2 2018 the rest will be 2019 for end of year delivery in 2018 you ok with that ? or did you find another ?

Me: I just left you a message at the dealership. I do not yet have anything firm on a GT3. I am fine with the wait for a MY 2019 build. Did you actually get the allocations for the MY 19 builds or are you just thinking that will be the scenario?

GM:No I have an allocation just can't build them yet later in the year

--Phone conversation discussiong July build for MY2019 car - specifics of the deal -- Said he could enter order but then confirmed he could not just yet.

3 hours later....

GM:I FOUND 1 MORE 18 , May build you want it?

Me:Interesting, and Hmmm??

Would you rather I take one over the other or does it not matter to you?
So I’d probably see my car in July vs September?
Is there typically anything different -changes/options between model years on GT cars?
Long term, wouldn’t I want a 2019 over a 2018?
Would you let me do Euro delivery at MSRP on the ’18? What if I said “please”!
Does the MSRP typically change from year to year?
How long do I have to decide?

Am I over thinking this!??

GM:Yes 2 months earlier at least, 19 could be pushed back. Can’t build the 2019 yet so I don’t know what the MSRP difference will be but yes it will be more. I don’t know if I can get the 18 in Euro delivery I will ask. As far as how long do you have well once I tell someone we have an 18 it will be gone. My guess there is less 19 being made.

Me:Thank you for your thoughts. I’ll take the earlier build. I’m thinking I’d rather have ‘bird in hand’ vs. the somewhat unknown MY2019

I took the Surge74's advice - Thanks for the insight.

Again, good things seem to be happening with this second round. Seems to be quite a few allocations finding homes.

Methinks Palting needs to pound sand. Maybe you're still on the "promised' list because you are an asshat? "Lighten up, Fancis" !!

When I asked about the latest allocations issued by PCNA, my medium sized dealer (strictly MSRP) who I do trust and over many years have been entirely straight in their dealings with me, replied with:

"The GT3 allocations for the entire calendar year of 2018 have been issued. We got three more in addition to your car. The next build slot after your car (Sept 2017) is August, 2018 which means it will not be here until October of 2018. The other two are October and November builds which are 2019 calendar year deliveries or at least one of them will be. Most early 2018 production slots are apparently taken by all the pts cars. They say this is the entire dealer allocation but there are always a few in their pockets for contests and to slip the big boys a few extra, at least that is what historically happens."

I hate to also pass on the following news. In their opinion anyone who is on a list and as yet not been contacted by their dealer and given their commission number should not hold their breath as there is a zero percent chance of getting one!

The only proviso to the above would be the clandestine order and premium selling practices that some dealers engage in and means that cars will be available through them but for a significant premium.

Btw, my dealership got one less .2 GT3 allocation than they were initially told they'd get.

Sorry for the tidings friends. I'm just passing on info that some may find useful.

As a data comparison point, the 991.1 GT3 was the same MSRP for all 3 model years: 2014, 2015, 2016.

Sounds like you have a legal and enforceable contract, there.

Since an MSRP commitment on this car is a value, It may be worth your while to spend a few bucks to see what a contract lawyer thinks.

Congrats to all those who got the call and hope all those on waiting lists will eventually get one. On Sunday i got the call from my dealer; it's an early 2018 build set to arrive in spring. ended up going white with platinum wheels, LWBs, full leather with red stitching, carbon interior trim and MANUAL. i am stoked!

So I'm in the northeast I'm 6th on the "list" got a call from my gm about number 2 on the list has a build coming in November and no longer wants it bc its pdk , and would like my allocation if it comes to fruition. ( this dealer received 6 .1's) I prefer MT but not a must have since this will be track toy and have MT Spyder. The build is v210 so changes are not likely. My only issue is it has 18 ways vs lwb. Gm is checking to see if his rep can put in a special request to change seats to lwb other than that happy w the build. So dilemma roll the dice and hope I get an allocation that I can build or go w the sure thing?
After reading this thread my concern is there will not be as many allocations as everyone anticipated

Advice welcomed

Curious who this CA dealer is...yes the $10k is definitely on the lower end of what most CA stealers are asking for though.
