LOL.
Before spring?! No way.
Try late spring/summer if you want to pay $25K over MSRP. Then, yes...

I've been waiting for this day since the 959 came out, I was 12. Mid-west dealer just called and offered a July '18 build for a MY2019 car at MSRP. I wanted ED, he they said it'd cost me $3K over. I think i'll just get it in ATL for free. Good things are happening with this latest round of allocations! I am doing my "happy dance". Today it is a GR, MT, LWB, and dripping with carbon. I don't see much changing on the build. Porsche must have Psychiatrists on their payroll. I've never been so happy to spend $163,750 to buy a car sight unseen. I won't even see this thing for another year but none of that matters. I'm getting the GT car I have been dreaming about for 35 years! Hold tight, I think dealers are just releasing and slow rolling these latest allocations.

Very happy for you, bravo!

Curious to know why Euro Delivery would carry a surcharge? What's it to the dealer that makes them want to mark it up?

And the dealers I am speaking to say they won't have the spring build allocations until October/November... which makes sense. How can your dealer give you a July build date in August?

OK, that was the impression I was getting. This is just the start of the roll-out, so hopefully production will start to meet demand as promised (contrary to what past history has taught us).

Has been discussed numerous times. Dealers get charged for it. What dealers don't like to tell you that Porsche gives them another car to sell. In other words dealers get 1 extra car for each ED in addition to their normal allocation.

It was explained to me that dealers get dinged/pay $3K for any ED car. if it is not a GT car they get a another allocation to replace the ED car. On a GT car, no additional allocation. He agreed to MSRP but said that the ED would be over if I still wanted to do it.

I spoke with the three dealers that I have been in close contact with. One dealer (a premier) said that his system only showed until June, nothing further. The other two dealers said that they received allocation(s) for fall build. The dealer that gave me the allocation said that his system allowed him to actually put my build in to his system. Yes, I am as confused as anyone. But I am dealing with the GM not a SA, so I feel comfortable with what he is saying.

Wow, when it rains it pours -

GM just e-mailed me. ....."I FOUND 1 MORE 18 , May build you want it?"

Not sure how one finds another allocation but that is a quote. Assuming someone either bailed or wanted a 2019.

What to do???

Take the May build for a MY2018 or keep my July for a MY2019 ?

Thoughts?

Is that how your dealer explained it? On an ED for a GT car he still gets another allocation; it just won't be another GT car.

A few thoughts:

1. Life is short.
2. If anything serious is exposed with the 2018 they may be able to sort it out by 2019. It is a pretty new engine, so....
3. How patient are you?

FWIW, the MY2108 and MY2019 will be virtually the same car. The only difference is a couple of months delay in getting the car. For resale, I would take the 2109.

Congrats on the allocation. I don't think it matter which allocation you take, take whichever one you prefer.
