Initial impressions, it looks great. It pulls way harder than the RS with the Novitech stage 2 tune. It doesn’t sound nearly as good as the RS, even with the Novitech exhaust. The Dundon headers on the 3RS are just epic, and not much can compare. I didn’t really get to test the 600LT in the corners yet or play with all the settings/modes, but I will say so far the Porsche feels tighter and my impression it has better build quality. That’s not to say that the 600LT sounds bad or has bad build quality, but hard to match Porsche in that regard.

Overall, I’m happy with it so far and look forward to driving it and getting to know the car better, but it won’t replace the 3RS.
Wow! Stunning! 😍 Use in the best of health. Does the roof scoop do anything performance wise?

Love the garage too. I want one like that when I grow up.

I don’t think it does anything performance wise, but I could be wrong about that. It just looks cool and you get a Darth Vader breathing sound when you accelerate and slow down, which is fun.

Thanks for the compliments!

From a pure performance perspective nothing touches the 720s

There are some drivers that are already not interested in performance. All they need is that the car brings emotions.

As an example those drivers will always pick a significantly slower
- GT3 over turbo S
- 600LT over 720
- 458 over 488.

I am one of those folks.

Pains me to post this, as it somewhat undoes the title of this thread, but hopefully doesn't kill it. To have to mortgage your own home and most treasured belongings has to be one of the most painful and humbling decisions.

We saw this coming as the they were the only completely independent sports car OEM by the way, but my prediction is this could also be the domino that kills all of Formula 1 also... most of the teams were bankrupt already, Mercedes has lost interest and is getting destroyed in sales anyway, and now Ferrari is basically left to race against itself.

**** this damn Covid.

I agree 100% hence I have a heavily modded 997 gt3 that's why I said from a pure performance (not emotion) the ultimate car right now for the dollar is the 720s.....

Hard to see McLaren going away. Primary stakeholders have a huge pile of money (Saudi investment group).

Is it Saudi or the Crown Prince of Bahrain? In any case, there comes a point where a shareholder might refuse to put in more money and opt to sell at a discount to a new investor.

It is brutal, but I’m cautiously optimistic. They need enough liquidity to cover ~18 months operating expenses. They’ve furloughed almost everyone and are getting a lot of support from the UK government (same as everyone else). I think their brand has enough value to raise capital.

that leverage though will act as a force multiplier against their existing business challenges in a few years.

I think a lot of new car launches will be delayed. This virus has wrought global financial carnage.

******* Chinese communist party. There has to be payback.

Zactly. My sentiments above. At least from a sanctions and financial standpoint.

I'm not sure why putting up the Woking HQ and F1 collection as collateral is being seen as such a big deal. Many very large companies don't own their HQs, they are leased, and when taking out loans attaching an asset to it as collateral makes good business since as it lowers the interest rate. Given McLaren's current financial position, I think this is a smart move.

There will be - we're heading into some very interesting geopolitical times. The PRC is the worlds number one polluter by a large margin, a serial abuser of human rights of its own people and others and remains a communist dictatorship. Moreover, Xi has given himself the top spot for life.

We are accelerating towards a show down which will result in china being economically ring fenced or ring barked - they can either become good actors or choose to be a rogue state. Its very easy to put the PRC in a vice from an economic perspective.

A major show of force is not out of the question.
