Sccchiii: Doesn't the buck stop with the manufacturer to make sure all dealers and GM and therefore SA's have all the needed info?

I don't think it falls all on manufacturers. I have a million relationships with dealer owners, and industry people and and can tell you it falls more on dealers not taking the training programs serious or not making it a culture. Others have crappy pay plans or treat associates that work for them like crap and the resulting turnover destroys any chance of a great staff providing customers great repeat experiences in future. I have always said if it's up to be it's up to me, if I was not provided support from my manufacturer at one of my stores then I did everything possible to have a training program internally to make extreme product knowledge/ordering process as transparent and easy as possible......I've seen many different sides from many different manufacturers, and if you want to own a dealership and are going to rely on manufacturer to train your staff then what happens if they don't? Some are much better than others, but ultimately it starts with a good hiring vetting process and proper amount of time to make customer experience the number one priority and it starts with proper culture. Do the manufacturers play a big role, sure they do but everything cat be blamed on them always. Bottom line is it's not easy but anything in life worth doing at a high standard isn't!

I have to say that I am alway amazed at how much SA's don't know their product. Even at my Porsche dealers, I always seem to know far more about the cars and what's coming then they do.

At Ford Dealers, forget it. They are clueless. Really frustrating when you are trying to find info out on a vehicle. Prime example of how clueless they are about cars...., years ago brought my FGT to the dealer for a warranty issue. Service department parked the car (sandwiched a better description) between a Focus and Windstar. I was furious. They couldn't understand why I was angry.

Personally, I don't think they will offer the stripes but you can certainly get them after market. To me, it's just not right for the gt3 theme.

i dont really view the GTS as a GT car but you are right the GTS was always supposed to come before the GT3
it was supposed to be announced end of 2016 though, at least that was what i had heard

on a popular topic side note: official unofficial :-) GT3 RS production numbers are out and i was telling previously on this board that it would be 8000 units and thats not the case, mea culpa

i am not supposed to say the exact number but i can tell you its less that 8000 but also way more than 5000, in fact its closer to 8000 than to 5000

sorry Waxer! :-)

That is good news - means PAG listened and could do the same for future GT models. Rarity is NOT a good thing - just artificially inflates price.

I know what you mean, GTS is the GT car, that's not a GT car, but may well end up with the right spec a faster lap time than THE GT3 CAR......

On the RS nos.....You sure, I am more comfortable with a much lower no.....

I know the announcement schedule for today was for the GTS. I mentioned that date ages ago including the production schedule to a skeptical audience.

What I was referring to was that the European dealers also expected to receive pricing and config details of the GT3 for internal use but were told by PAG there would be a delay. Somebody else on this forum mentioned the same thing last week too. The dealers already have their GT3 allocations for 2017 and were expecting more details.

Our country dealer didn't receive anything until now.
