SA = Sales Associate. 🙄
There reasons MB dealers don't have the same price policies on AMGs as Porsche dealers in many cases have on Porsche GT cars : Porsches are more in demand in most cases and AMGs seriously out perform Porsche's in depreciation. Maybe this GTR will be one of the exceptions.
AMG GTR is a great performing car clearly (styling is an acquired taste (imho) but a Porsche GT3 is a Porsche GT3.

My GT R arrives in July. I got an allocation at MSRP a year ago as I really didn't think I would get a GT3 allocation without being price gouged. All that changed today. The GT3 is still 10-12+ months away, however. The GT R is an amazing car and I hope to enjoy it until the GT3 arrives.

The Porsche GT3 is legend and iconic in sport motoring circles. No question. There is no substitute as PAG correctly used to tout in marketing blather.
RS version just turns it up a notch.
AMG GTR is an awesome bit of kit. Love it. It's styling as I said is an acquired taste but I like it. My only concern is resale for this AMG. I can buy a very very nice used low mileage AMG GTS for $100K or less down from a new MSRP of $140K of only a year or so ago. If I wait another 6 months take off another $10K. Porsche GT cars don't follow historically that downward curve. If any thing they sell for over MSRP and the argument is thereafter whether they will drop from that over MSRP figure and how much at some point.
I am super super in love with the new Mac 720S. Really really want one BUT no way will I buy one new when I can wait a year or so for the new 720SR or 730S or whatever they are going to call it and buy a 720S for $70K less than MSRP which I will pay for one now. Plus Mac dealership net work has me spooked. My closest Mac dealer is at more than an hour away. I have two Porsche dealers within 20 minutes of my home.

I have owned AMG since Mercedes Benz bought that tuner with controlling interest in 1999 and eventually sole owner in 2005. AMG produced great cars and that is what attracted Mercedes Benz in buying them. The top model in the AMG model is the "Black Series."
The issue I have with AMG is their resale and as of late lack of "exclusivity." Good example is their current AMG GT, resale due to early release issues contributed to a very disappointing resale value.
AMG nowadays is more of "marketing" gimmick by Mercedes Benz than what it stood before for performance. It is not in the same league as that of the PORSCHE GT cars.![nono](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/nono.gif)
Here is an example why resale of AMG is near the gutter. They cater to almost everything under the sun that will make and generate revenue.

I have yet to see that happening. I have the utmost confidence in PORSCHE in NOT diluting the GT model for the sake of the almighty $.
