And I think this will be the biggest GT3 price bump in history:

996 GT3 3.6 380 HP -->$100K
996 GT3 RS 3.6 400 HP --> $ NA
997.1 GT3 3.6 415 HP --> $106k
997.1 GT3 RS 3.6 415 HP $123K
997.2 GT3 435 3.8 HP $112K
997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 450 HP $133K
997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 500 HP $188K LE
997.2 GT2RS 3.8TT 620HP $225K LE
991.1 GT3 3.8 475 HP $134K
991.1 GT3 RS 4.0 500 HP $178K
991.1 GT3R 4.0 500HP $185K
I predict:
991.2 GT3 4.0 500HP $159K
991.2 RS (Turbo, really the GT2RS) $249K
Some limited edition last hurrah $289K

Look at the increases when the economy was down and GT3's were lining up at dealer lots VS the nutty RS and R prices. So why wouldn't they?

Only price the will keep down a bit is the GT2RS and place it just above the TTS so they can crank out another 5000 991RS.

Then it starts all over with the Carbon tub Hybrid 992...

They need to accommodate the R buyers in some manner. Especially if the .2 is available with wing delete and the hocus-pocus diffuser. If Porsche can say the R buyer got 15hp, carbon hood, magnesium roof, go-fast retro stripes, green indicator needles and some peptita fabric the boys at HQ can probably say with a straight face they didn't completely rip the carpet out from underneath the R buyers with the cheaper, torquier 991.2 manual GT3.

I think PAG could release a 4.2 liter, 550 HP GT3/RS under 175K and it would STILL not take away from the exclusivity of the R, if not for any other reason than the quantity produced.

The craze of 250K over MSRP has nothing to do with PAG or the dealers - it has everything to do with us, the buyers.

So the R owners are basically getting a wingless .2GT3 beta tester car with a few parts bin pieces. Good thing the car is numbered.

Is it safe to assume that the .2GT3 will win the car of the year award next year? haha

agreed. there can be no sacred cows in the drive for progress. not to mention, I don't think anybody lucky enough to get an R would be peeved by the offering of a 991.2 GT3 with a manual and 4.0.

Just looking at the 997.1 --> 997.2 GT3 there is ~6% change in price. Applying that to the 991 gen, it would go from $134k (991.1) --> $142k (991.2). I'm not sure how relevant comparing 997 to 991 is. Also, if hey do offer a manual, the MSRP may increase at a smaller rate (going from PDK to manual for base model). All speculation though./

I think in the same direction and also... PDK will be standard, MT is extra option together with LWFW.

The list of buyers is looooong at many dealers already.

I think you miss the point. Give me more torque over HP at this level in a GT3 any day. As a proof point, on a track, a well driven 991.2 CS will put 5-8 car lengths on a GT3 out of a slow corner because of its torque. With an extra 30 ft/lbs of torque, the GT3 will be right with the CS.....and then gone....just like it should.

I don't see a $30,000 price hike on the .2GT3. The 4L engine(though detuned) is cheaper than the 3.8 9000RPM engine. Most of the performance upgrades including cosmetics in the .2GT3 have already been researched, test and paid for with the R and RS.

My guess the MSRP will be around $145,000.

At $145K it is almost 12%, which is a very large increase. But, if they can do it and the demand is the same, clearly they would.

My guess would be $10K increase over 991.1, which is still one of the largest increases ever in a GT car.

Nice summary, though I still expect a NA 991.2 RS separate from GT2 RS.

The financial situation changed a lot from 2007-2010. The 991.2 will get a bigger increase in price just because the market can handle it.

I don't blame them. The 991gt3 was a sucess in sales. The 991.2gt3 will the one to buy and keep.
A lot of beta testing has been done with the gen1. Both by Porsche and customers.

Historically hasn't the gt3 slotted well below the turbo? If it's around 160 it's the same msrp as the turbo (which we know people don't cross shop but still). And historically the RS has slotted midway between the turbo and turbo s...with the exception of this gen...where it's much closer to the S...mag roof, vents, driving it upmarket, etc.
I think we're going to see an MSRP of 142 or less using the turbos .1 to .2 increase as a guide. and as grant mentioned at some point maybe under 140.
Who knows ...I supposed anything is possible.
