garage car lifts

looks great. Do yourself a favor and get some race ramps that hook right up to the lift. I have them for mine. You can literally hold them up with 1 finger. They are so much better than dealing with those steel ramps. I gave my steel ramps to the neighbor kids and they made a bike jump.

Does anyone have a 4 post (2) car lift in a 3 car garage photo?1st picture is a mock up of what it would look like in my garage. The other option is two single post lifts on the outside walls like the attached picture. Garage footprint is 27’ deep x 32’ wide and 14’ ceiling. Thanks.

if you decide on lift, they will recommend some local installers. Not sure where in LA, the guy that is going to install mine is coming from the Montclair area which is about 25 minutes from me.

I'll shoot his info tomorrow. I went with a Wildfire 4 post 2 car lift. There is really only 3 manufactures of 4 post 2 car lifts. Wildfire, Benpak, and Advantage. I was torn between Advantage and Wildfire, the Wildfire one works better because of its dimensions and also their customer service..... responsiveness was spot on.

For those with lifts, how often are you driving the car that goes up on the lift? Seems like something you wouldnt do that often considering the need to move the car below it and lower the vehicle on top.

for me, with prior car on top, about once a month. more for storage in the garage than anything else.

I have two 4 posts in my main garage. I drive the ones on the top at least once a week each. Try for twice a week. Just takes a couple more minutes getting them down. Worth it to me to have the capability to keep 4 cars inside a 2 car garage.

I know when I got my lift in 2019 I didn't think of this. Rather the convenience of having one more car in my garage. However I find I drive the one on top less than the ones on the bottom. In my case I am moving a car in the driveway and whatever is under the lift, lowering the lift, removing the car on it, putting a car on it and moving a car back in the driveway. Sounds trivial but it's something that acts a barrier of sorts. This being said, this is not a life problem.
This year I'm trying to be more intentional and will swap them maybe once every 2-3 weeks.
Ideal is to get in, open the garage door and drive. Will need a 8 car garage house or 4 x tandems (one step better than a lift).
