Huge congrats! I think you're the first verified Canadian allocation.. My brother should have secured his allocation out west. I guess it pays to have multiple homes in various provinces.. lol

My local dealer that I buy from says he’s out of allocations but will receive more when production starts Sept 2018.
Right now he’s getting $200k over for his allocations but would make a “deal” with me as we approach the next round of production.
I think there will be more made than many are hoping. But that works to the advantage of people in my position.

I read it was lighter, quicker etc but really no different than all the rest of the 911 pretty much. I don't know if he was just being hard on the car or what. When I look at the old GT2 RS that one is holding its value.

The 997 GT2 holds value because it was limited and numbered, and performed extremely well during its time, thus the moniker "Widow Maker." PAG decided not to limit and delete the plaque on the 991 GT2RS. The new 991 GT2RS is the Top Dog for now. Only history will tell if it will hold value. I think it will hold value because it holds the record at Nurburgring. What Porsche did with a 3.8 liter twin turbo engine on a rear-wheel drive, kicking all of the competition is truly mind boggling.
The more I look into the previous 997 GT2, what resembles that model is the new 991 TURBO S "Exclusive Series" which is limited (500 copies worldwide) and numbered. Almost identical in HP, the 997 GT2 having 620HP and the 991 Turbo S "Exclusive Series having 607HP but have more more modern features and carbon fiber components in it.
Porsche GT cars holds value unlike many in the competition, they tank like a ship anchor.

Are you sure it's not a case of 'Rohrl is faster around Algarve in a 2rs than some customers in the .2 Cup' rather than a blanket 'the 2rs is as fast or faster than a Cup'?
Slicks give a car a tremendous cornering advantage, it'll take some believing the Cup can be matched or bettered by a car on Cup2s imo.

I would say around a slower team, but not really amateur, unless Lemans series is amateur level to you, but again it was at an endurance level.
Remember, this was a 1:57 lap
These are the times I based my statement on: https://es.motorsport.com/endurance/...168475/?st=FP2
I will agree that a CUP car can be faster, but so the GT2 RS, 1:53 - 1:54 wouldn't be even a dream from this lap, that even tho it was clean it has a lot of time to be gained. A Cup car will run a -1:50 with the help of the driving gods, maybe a 991.2 cup car.
I would just emmend the 991.2, I assumed but I'm sure it would be a 991.1 cup car.

im not so sure. i think there will be no GT2RS built within 2019.
and in EU there is not really existing the term "2019 model" if built 2018... for me its not more than salesman blabla.
or for US manufactures its like a chance to press a "new model" into the market (which is still like the one the year before). it not anymore like it was in the 1960s where cars really changed year to year during the production cycle....
