Same boat, no luck yet. Still waiting on an official answer. Would take a RS allocation at MSRP and a solid chance at a .2 as a consolation prize.

Sounds like there are a lot of us #1's at major dealerships awaiting word...but you know, I'd be happy with a .2 RS @ MSRP to make me feel better about the "R" situation, wink wink nudge nudge Porsche.

Yup. #1 here, for almost a year.

Nothing.

Not expecting an allocation anymore.

That's fine, I'd rather have a different numbered car, anyway (997.2 GT2 RS and 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 equivalents excite me more than the 991.1 R).

Another question for those with experience of both. Which dashboard trim is going to stand the test of time. Alcantara or the leather option?
How are you speccing your car? (Australian here too)

Cheers

Hi Reza

GT Silver. No stripes. Front lift seems standard in Oz. Black leather. Dashboard leather. SMFW. PCM and Aircon. Standard battery. Might look at Li batteries once the industry fixes the spontaneous combustion issue. Do not like my chances of getting PAG to build a replacement R in event of fire.

Beautiful build that. Love the no stripe idea with silver, ultimate stealth, but those that know... they know. Can't wait to see how it turns out

Aussie cost of Li battery is just unfounded imo, and best to avoid.

Is yours from PCSS, Willoughby or Parra?

Default back seats?

Not sure if anyone has covered this yet, but what are the chances of having Porsche Exclusive (or a good shop) reinstall the backseats. I have noticed in the photos of the rear that the unlike the GT3 there seem to be the hook up points for the belts under plastic covers? I am sure people will say that is against the purpose of this car but i disagree. This is not a track car and I put my kids in the back all the time. No back seats and too flash a rear wing are what prevented me from getting a 997 GT3.

I read somewhere (Maybe Rennteam) that the single mass flywheel comes with a different clutch so you might be right.

I believe there are no fastening points for back seats left in the GT cars. I am not aware of anybody, anywhere who managed to have their GT car delivered with back seats.

Yesterday I was asked if the weight reducing parts that I have been thinking about for the R would fit GT3 and GT3 RS. It looks as if I was wrong about the axles and, in fact, the axles that fit the R should also fit both GT3 and GT3 RS.

This is particularly good in that they would be stronger as well as lighter and, of course, this is rotating weight. In short, excellent for racing as well as street applications.

Was just told lighter flywheels are having to get bumped back in the delivery order.

Why anyone would take a 911R with the dual mass I'm at a loss

I'm considering not to opt for lfw...rattle at minimum so annoying for street use and engine revs up quickly enough on RS...which is heavier and equipped with a dual mass if i remember well - i do believe this is the classic option where they do 100% profit... and they push for this reason
