I wonder if they are going to have to force some 911R buyers to take the dual mass flywheel in order to start production as I can't imagine anyone would spec their car without its "killer app" voluntarily. Then there will be a true war of the Titans as 918 VIP owners will have to throw their weight around to get their production date moved to sept... Potentially Messy

I just got word today that they are taking my spot away from me and giving it to someone else since the 918 owners are grabbing them all up, 7 is correct I can't believe they waited this long to tell me. This is abhorrent customer service and I now agree with everyone bashing the 918 program. 7 non flipped cars is ridiculous.

Was there any difference on 997.x GT3 vs. RS with respect to lightweight flywheel apart from hardware?

911 R the difference apparently includes:

Clutch assembly
ECU?
Pedal box (calibration)?

Any thoughts on why the production of single mass flywheels is problem?

They've never offered a 9A1 MT with LWFW; historically only Mezger engine, not M96/M97 either.

It's like PAG really don't care. They do what they need to do, get everyone excited on all the special releases, tease us, then bang, out come all the excuses, **** people off again but hey, we keep chasing them with our tails between our legs and jump right back in the mix when the next opportunity arises. They are masters at this.

Judging by the degree to which everyone is upset, they are not masters at this. A certain Italian maker are masters at it. They do it, kick the customer up the bum, convince them any flaw in the car is a feature, and the customer returns begging for more rather than complaining about the effort! I think these Germans need a lesson in, of all thing, efficiency in customer disservice!

There will be problems with the LWFW, getting the seats, and other items too. (tongue in cheek emoticon here) Porsche is doing this to seriously **** off the 918 buyers of this car so they are as upset as the rest of us who cannot get one. By doing so they hope we will bond with the 918 owners. Seems like a perfect plan to me. I feel your pain.

That is my point, they're starting to act like Ferrari. They **** us off but the demand is still "nulli secundus".
