It will help you and many others a lot more than a price of metal in your garage.

My guess....because it's a limited production car that they can flip for a quick healthy profit. I'm hearing that from a few brokers that price will be around $150k over MSRP on the secondary market.

Never said they suck. Reality is that what they are doing sucks for the rest of us, that's all. I was first in line to get my 07 RS when I put my name on it in October. Not until December did I know I was actually getting it for real when the dealer got his allocations. Delivery March first, one of the first shipments in the country I think. Dealer got only 1 RS last year, I did not get it.

I don't get the vilifying of 918 owners thing. They could have dropped their mil on any of a dozen cars and they picked the 918. Good on them. Speaking from personal experience, all the 918 owners I've met are pretty dedicated Porschephiles.

The issue is with PAG and PCNA supply strategy for GT cars. Blaming 918's owners strikes me as naive and childish.

BTW, nice Frogger. You're one of the lucky few.

The only thing I don't like about the 918 program is that I didn't get a couple of them.

AC weighs 14 kg, PCM weighs 8 kg. I am planning to get AC, but no PCM.

But you save 6kg on the single mass flywheel and 13.5kg on the lithium ion battery!

This is for people who want to talk about configuration and not about allocation bs which has ruined all the other 911R threads thus far
Sure, we will let you seven people talk it out. I'll be on here if Porsche invite me to buy one.

I was told today that the single mass flywheel wont be available until May so I can not order it right now, this is odd as Im sure all the R's will be built after May.

Has anyone else been told this?

Well actually you don't save any weight through these options, you just add less weight :-) All weights stated by Porsche are in the lightest possible spec with all fluids and 90% full tank. In order to get to 1370 kg you therefore need to take all the weight reducing options and also don't add any weight through other options.

Funny but true. Maybe re start this thread in the 918 supercar forum.
I pretty much knew where I stood when placing the order. It was a bit of fun to configure. I loaded my dream build, did not do the purist thing.
I am still on the list for the next RS, and next GT3. Would rather add a second RS to my garage.

You really can't get the side script without ED? Do they do some sort of red carpet decal application ceremony when you arrive?
