I can't wait to get the cars in there and set up some of the junk I've been collecting...

My wife and I had a private tour of the facility and library which is amazing! They are digitizing millions of pages of literature in an organized and deliberate manner. This data base will allow restorers incredible accuracy in their work. Additionally, it will allow restorers of historic race cars to decide what livery to place cars. Automotive archeology at its best.

The Car Cave is all about finishing the drywall and getting it into primer and paint, so on the 24th the floor grinder/polishers can rip into it.

Weather sucks up there right now for construction and it will for another two months. This is the state of affairs when I left last week.

Damn Man, where does someone go to find some junk like this? Local watering hole, church, supermarket? I could see myself becoming a collector with junk like this.

There is a lot of sanding to be done - but also lots of wall space for all of the collectables?
Still snowing? I have 0 experience with it - but if you'd asked me ai would've assumed it would've been all gone by now!!!

Looking fantastic!!!

Still snowing? Ha! it will be snowing for the next month and a half, then occasionally for a few more weeks (basically until April 15th). The bay froze for the first time in three years so that will act as a cold reservoir locally.

Where I live, winter is serious business - that's why the walls of the Car Cave are 14" thick and there is two feet of insulation in the attic!

It Is also the reason for moments like this!

Tip of the iceberg of junk to put in there... Probably 100 porcelain signs!

Last night after we returned from Florida it snowed about 6" of light fluffy stuff, then the wind came up to 40 with gusts to 55! You could not see anything as the wind was blowing snow in off the bay. Drifts to four feet this morning and a temperature of 10 degrees. The Eagles are flying this morning and it is quiet, gorgeous and austere with lots of new snow at the ski areas...

Been out of town most of the last two weeks and when I checked in yesterday they had two guys just starting to run the grinders for the floor polishing. They start with #30 grit diamond cutters (two passes) then they do two more passes with #50 grit diamond cutters. Tomorrow they will be applying two coats of their proprietary sealer (which I can't scratch with a metal scraper). The fresh concrete polishes to a salt and pepper aggregate and I believe it will be quite attractive.
