Was looking at the following:
  • Minka Aire Xtreme 96
  • Craftmade Colossus 96 (COL96ESP6)
  • Kichler Szeplo 96
Any feedback on these, and perhaps other alternatives? Looking at stats can make your head spin, yes Max CFM matters but also I've noticed there is a big difference in max RPM (e.g. some are less than 60 revs per minute, others over 90, pitch blade angle variation, etc.) All thoughts are welcome. TIA
Can't speak for the other two but I have two Minka Aire Xtremes and really like them. Reliable, quiet, reversible. My garage has about 23' ceiling height and it hangs about 5' down from the ceiling. Moves a ton of air for the relatively slow RPM, which I think is the whole point of these HVLS fans. I also wanted the BigArse brand but they're exponentially higher cost wasn't justified.

Thanks for the feedback - are yours the 80" or the 96' version? I saw the 80s on a review (Obsessed Garage IIRC) and looked good especially for a more modern setting.

I bought #2 and #3 on the list above, so will provide feedback once I have them installed and particularly as we are headed into summer. I have different bays in the warehouse, so may also try the Minkas, I was going for a less modern look so the Craftmade (espresso stain) and Szeplo (satin black) were a better fit for what I am aiming for, but will likely throw a Minka in the last bay for good measure.

Think I've perused this entire thread from start to finish 2-3 times now. A lot of inspiration here (and envy!)
This is mine. In progress, along with the rest of the house. Will pale in comparison to a lot of the majestic spaces posted here, but a big step up from the tiny 2 car detached shack I've had to suffer with for the last several years.

Envious of all of you with these massive spaces. When it comes time to leave the city, this thread will be a massive source of inspiration.

Until then, I’ll make the best of what I have

I got the 96" version. Good luck with the Craftmade and Szeplo!
