Agree that's not bad at all. I found a local wood shop to build mahogany doors at 2700.00 per set add 1600.00 for door opener 250.00 for hardware all in 6k per opening. There is a simple release on top of opener in case an issue - garage is not on a generator which would concern me if there was defect / issue on a large single door as would the amount of steel and engineering to support a 50 ft door 100k plus major engineering delivery 6 - 9 months.

Downside of carriage doors - small gaps they go out 4.5 ft pain to get them right minimal prep but IMO carriage doors are worth those issues wires will be hidden at some point.

I have the equipment and skills to make those doors in my sleep, even though I specialized in commercial casework. $2700.00? Thief! Maybe per leaf but I would walk away at that price. Good job.
Specs for each door would be stave core stiles and rails and the center panel would be 3 layers with a marine plywood center. The plywood core will help keep the door from sagging over time. And I can see light coming through one of the gaps. They are beautiful but at that size very difficult to keep flat and sealed. Your climate should not cause any problems. I think.

I have three others 5 years later face same direction no issues they have more seals and let in almost no light need to tweak these a bit.

Also ordered two man doors 1800.00 each agree the garage doors everywhere else were 4500 - 6,000.00 vs 2700.00.

The company I used first go around was 12 weeks back ordered went to a high end local shop who never made a garage door prior - think he just wanted the job.

Commercial casework - if you would have offered me the doors at that price as specified I would have bought them

Got my detailing cabinet (4ft x 6ft metal cabinet) wrapped to go with the theme. I think it turned out great! It's amazing what you can do with vinyl these days!

I just got the Quote from Schweiss Doors for a 30' x 10' swing out Hydraulic door system for my new build summer home. The base door system is about $24K. I am having it engineered for full triple pane glass, so that will add to the final cost. I know it is a high end price for sure. I already have a couple of 50' x 15' units for my two hangers, so I was not shocked by the price. I really like when its open it basically will give me a 10' awning space. The attached picture is one I just grabed off the Schweiss web-site. The bad news is I am battling with the 'Green Weenies' over the proposed location and size of my lake side deck at the same proposed home. If I can't build the deck I may just fold the whole project and walk away.

Here is my garage. The theme is - not pretty but it fits. I had a two car garage - but because of sets backs - the only way to make it bigger was to push out the side and have the cars perpendicular to the existing two (rather than parallel). The "push out" project was undertaken to store my father's '63 corvette. While I can now fit 6, getting the cars in and out is a bit of a PITA - with that being said, I'm glad they all fit. My daily driver (Evo 9) parks right in front of the lifts - so kids and wife stay keep to the closet spot, away from lifts.

Well many of us do have some level of building constraints. I think your personal solution is just great. I generally have 7 - 8+ cars at any given time, but my main and summer homes only have space on the lots for a 3 car garage each. So I have to shuffle stuff about when needed. I have two aircraft hangers but one is 15 minutes from my main home, and the summer home is some 60 minutes for a trip to that hanger. It just takes some planning, no big deal.
