Yup. Any limited edition with less than 2000 worldwide will likely suffer this problem unless the US gets a much higher % of allocs (similar to how we got all the 997.2 Speedsters).

Considering the absurd prices of the 991.1 GT3 RS right now, no 918 VIP in their right mind would pass up their right of first refusal on any limited edition / GT car alloc, whether or not they are truly a Porsche enthusiast.

For what its worth, had dinner with a Level 2/3 source (can't remember the classifications I created, I gotta go check my post LOL)... Anyway, they let me know that the expected number of cars produced won't be enough to even satisfy the 918 owners.. Somewhere in the range of 600 cars... And if you want one, you better be in Geneva end of Feb. I was surprised.

OT but did your source provide any further info as to whether there will (not) be a NA .2 GT3 or are the R and RS Cup the swan songs?

No, nothing like that. German 918 owner with some good info... And I classified it as such, not as cleaning lady level 1 which seems to be overused.

Well if the RS 4.0 was limited to 500 (or was it 600).. There is good reason to believe this car will be just as limited.

Except the RS 4.0 existed when you didn't have ~297 North American 918 Spyder VIP's who get first crack at everything. Only ~150 RS 4.0's came to the US, that wouldn't fly today without a major uprising on PCNA's hands.
