What a fantastically written article, this is one to keep. The whole framing of the experience from a sound perspective, and then the "girlfriend in jail" analogy to depict how we've lulled ourselves into thinking that modern digital cars are as exciting as the old-school analog ones ... Master-class metaphor. Definitely worth a long cigar-smoking, whiskey sipping read.. Even if you don't have an R coming

Thanks for sharing. Is that an owners car awaiting acceptance of delivery or being displayed to be flipped?

Drive safe,

There are not much dealer ordered cars in Europe, and I really doubt a special edition Porsche like this R could have been ordered by a dealer.

So I really think this a car waiting for delivery.

Agree. Loved the part where the RS was compared to a 'simulator' while the R was compared to the 'real thing.'

What's the consensus on the front light options for the R? All the media cars I've seen have had Xenons but that customers car has LED's. They look good but not sure I'd pay the extra over the Xenon's?

I enjoyed that article immensely. Jason Cammisa comes across like a modern David E. Davies.

It is hard to remember when any car has received such outstanding reviews.

As to lights, how much more do the LEDs weigh?

I'd have been shocked, and dismayed, if it actually had dismal reviews.

Still, no interest in the car. Especially not enough for the amount of effort it would take me (someone who foolishly didn't buy two 918's when he had the chance) to get an allocation.
