$85k? Oh dear. Where have you heard this? If you are referring to the CXX option of custom colored stripes by Porsche Exclusive, I can assure you it is much, much lower than $85k and there are many more than 4 examples being made with those. Several owners who have opted for this option are members here and can vouch for this I am sure.

I actually respect the comfort seats sans stripes build...purposeful in it's subtlety.

I am a big fan of the 911R, and would gladly pay MSRP for one even if they made 5,000 of them, called it the 911partsbinsuckersspecialedition, and it depreciated like a V6 Cayenne...but any comparison to the original 911R is pure marketing fluff.

What makes the 1967 911R a 7-figure car has nothing to do with how it differs from a standard 1967 911, and everything to do with its history as the first 911 specifically built for racing (also that there were only 20 of them). That said, the 906 engine, fiberglass panels, etc. were very different from the standard 1967 car, whereas the only unique part of the current car is the gearbox, and we all know that is only for the moment...

Very interesting. I wonder which is going to be worth more down the line? PTS painted whole car with vinyl stripes or PTS painted stripes with regular body colors (eg. white, silver, black, orange and yellow)?
