So that's how Porsche will do it? We will never know whats wrong with our cars. I bet this is the route they are taking to help with litigation's later. It has nothing to do with rumors IMHO just lawsuits.

That sounds like bull****. They can't pull a motor out of your car without your permission. You do own the car after all.

And, if true, why just US motors???

I don't doubt the possibility of motors having to be pulled at some point if necessary--but to assume that it can somehow be done in secret and that such an action only pertains to US cars creates an issue for me in terms of logic / reasoning.

That said, SO much of this whole situation escapes logic / reasoning.

If this is true it is good news. It's one thing to pull an engine to inspect some externals that would otherwise be hard to inspect. But there's no way that they could tear an engine apart at a dealer's shop to get at the internals.

Well, OK, maybe they could pull a cylinder, but that would take time and would be hard to keep a secret.

^ This -- unless everyone was given a "do what needs done" form to sign before their car was taken away?

Cars in PDI are still owned by Porsche.

If they pull an engine I am not sure they have a duty to inform the customer who buys the car. That said, Porsche more than likely will be upfront if in fact they did.

If pulling an engine is an issue for a customer, they should ask the dealer if that happened and if the dealer does not know have him call Porsche for an answer. They are obliged to tell if they did.

Yeah...everyone " Clear the room! " no oil changes today,no brakes changes,nothing...Most technicians can go home, the ones remaining need to strip down to their panties and searched : no cellphones,no Google glasses,no dirt in the fingernails...
Plus they need to sign a privacy statement.
Other than the above, business as usual...

No cameras or phones allowed in the factory...sorry

I did see one roll out the door and 3 LHD as well as 1 RHD on the line though

Tour guide only confirmed there is a problem being investigated and they currently can't be sold (no news there)

It does sound like bull****. At the very least an owner would need to be notified. And why only cars at dealers? Mine sits in my garage and I've heard nothing from anyone about even wanting to inspect it.
