Did you hear any strange noises coming from your garage last night?

Same here - no word on my end, either. My car sits in my garage with 1,400 miles, no issues with my car, no Check Engine lights etc...and no word from anyone aside for a phone call and email saying not to drive. Will be interesting to see what comes to light in the near future.

Has any of the US GT3 burned? So far only 2 GT3 cars in EU that burned (as far as I know). May be Porsche trying to find out why no US GT3 have problem (burned), apart from minor quality issues (crank sensors, thermostat, etc). If that the case, the US GT3 should be back on the road soon.

Mine has been with the local garage (Qatar) for 10 days now. I have asked them to check the oil sensor while it was there as it shows oil level swings from 3 bars to above maximum on a recurrent basis. They told me they had instructions not to touch the car till further notice from Germany.

It really isn't, Mike. Mine had its log uploaded. I guess they are getting info on cars at the dealers only? No idea.

Given the gravity of the situation and the fact that they've essentially quarantened cars at a number of dealers, I don't find it an unreasonable possibility that Porsche could've sent a team of people over here to inspect some of the cars. FWIW, the poster clarified in follow up posting that this was what happened at his local dealer.
As for the idea that Porsche can't pull a motor of a customer car that's been brought into the shop for recall/warranty/repair without permission, I find that argument a little naive. First, for all we know they did ask permission. Second, the intake flap recall on the 997.2 GT3 RS required dropping the engine. When I brought my car in for the recall nothing was said to me about dropping the engine. They just told me when it would likley be ready. End of story. I had no need to ask because I already knew from other non-official sources what was involved. Finally to extent that there is truth in this, for all anyone knows the car(s) that are (have) getting motor(s) pulled are still in dealer inventory.
Like I said, I'm just passing along new info from someone I've known to be a reliable source. Make of it whatever you want.
