Porsche has made it clear that in their initial investigation they suspect only a small number of cars are involved. The stop sale as they wrote to the dealers was in an "abundance of caution"

Extrapolating from the above facts, I have concluded the stop sale will be short term.:thumb up:
Logical.

Anyone think this will distract from the issue with our GT3's? (Rhetorical.)

Oh, there is cover worldwide, last night, in the news section of Top Gear GT3 owner Richard Hammond was the butt of jokes about his GT3 supposedly going up in flames by Jeremy (aka Jennifer) Clarkson which was entirely predictable but made the general public aware of this 'recall'.

See attached snap with Richard having just been given some oven gloves by Clarkson as driving gloves for a GT3.

Is that Panamera Mahogany Metallic with Cognac interior?

The Mahogany is one of my color choices, do you have any more pics of it?

Yes it is. It's a really fantastic combination for the Pan IMO. Car gets a lot of attention even though Pans are all over Dubai.

The mahogany really changes color along with the lighting. Black,reddish,brownish.... It's like walking to a new car every time you hop back in

These are the only ones I have so far. Will snap some tomorrow during the day and post.

Cheers

funny how Jeremy was less concerned about the 458 issues! he is SUCH a Porsche hater I hope the 918 spanks the P1 round the TG track!

The short track that TG uses will even the playing field between the 918 and P1 since the 918 has such a monster advantage with instant torque. Will be interesting and Jeremy will have to eat his words...but he likely won't bc that's who he is...

The short track will lower the numbers of seconds the 918 loses by, but it's still a vastly inferior machine - according to Sutcliffe, Harris, you know, everyone - to the point of embarrassment for the engineers who worked on it, I would guess (or hope). As I said before, I hope Porsche takes the obvious lesson from the exercise and goes back to deriving its halo cars from its successful race cars.

LOL@ovenmitts.

In a strange way I'm glad it's been picked up by the media. More eyes on Porsche to do the right thing. Online blogs and Rennlist are one thing. . . but the awareness created by more mainstream automotive media is more powerful I think.

Well, the 918 is actually derived from the RS Spyder so not a fair criticism in this example, but I take your point. EOD as I've said many times, 918 is customer sponsored R&D exercise to understand and prepare for the next gen sports car.
Hats off to Porsche if they can get customers to drop a mil on one.

Now if only they'd give us that glorious V8 as a standalone powertrain......

+1 ...

Its going to be "interesting" to see how the LMP1 hybrids (KERS) cars compete against Audi and Peugeot at Le Mans ... I'm a bit sceptical ...
