If we all know possible root cause of this issue then one could assume that Porsche engineers must have concluded this long before us and the testing part is not like they are testing some new rocket engine for god sake. This is a engine they been making for 50 yrs with some tweaks.

Yeh Macca, I'll add to that. fault finding is easy if it's consistent. I would hate to be in charge of this problem. to understand the problem you have to be able to replicate it. Until they can replicate it I can't see them making any definitive statements. The easy part is looking at the problem. Why it happened is the hard bit. I've spent many hours in front of testing rigs trying to understand why a problem has occurred. Drives you nuts. Two out of 800 is a tough one. I really feel for the company. it's obvious an enormous amount of effort has gone into R & D Everyone who parks their bums in one of these things raves about them. I know they will get it right but this sort of thing is time honored. I think everyone on this board would love an official update on this board telling us where they are with it and what they are doing. That would definitely quell the fire no pun intended.

I'll add on more point. There will be no second chances with this one. They know that. people can accept there can issues with new designs. I think most would lose faith if they didn't fix it. WOW that would get his board humming.

Very minor update for those with cars in production. My dealer says the Porsche system hasn't pushed back my build completion date yet, and the car is due to be finished tomorrow! I will keep checking over the next couple of days and let you know what happens.

Mine hasn't moved either. 3/14 completion.

I heard it is caused by pdk clutches over heating and causing the closely housed lines for rear wheel steer to over heat and catch fire which then melts the dry sumps' oil line which causes the engine to lose oil pressure and then grenades the crank case.

Where did you here this from? Kinda strange since Sam from TX has been tracking his car with no issues...

Yeah, not buying this. 500 track miles plus 1900 street miles with no issues. Sounds like a rumor started by those who don't care for PDK and RWS... Just my thought.

Sounds like a rumor / attempt at humor from the circle of "pry a stick from my cold, dead hand."

Forgot about the electric steering playing a role

true, also didn't figure out a way to work in the CL as well.

I also heard Porsche are selling these to early models 6 and 7 gt3/rs owners so they can retrofit their cars to feel more like the new 991 GT3
