Might as well release the details already. How much longer must we wait?

I bet the base price will be just shy of the Turbo S base price. So $50k premium over GT3?

No intel, pure speculation on my part.

Andreas Preuninger, Porsche's head of GT production cars, told CAR: 'We've opened up a wider field of usability with the new GT3, so maybe that gives us more reason to push the RS towards a more extreme side. The differentiations between the two models has always been increasing, and it's going to be like that in the future.'

In the past, the RS has been around a 20% premium over the GT3. This version clearly has more differentiation from a GT3 than past versions. I'll guess they double the premium to about 40% for a price close to $185k.

Looks super aggressive! Good job, PAG! Almost exactly like the model (with minor differences like the lower half of the sport design mirrors in black). Presumably the performance matches the looks. Still happy with the GT3 as long as it actually gets here, and soon...

Yes, I think so. Inside word for months has been that base price will be $180K+.

I know we 991 GT3 adopters have been saying it for a while, but boy is out car a "bargain" starting at 130k, with most between 145-155k.

I think the RS is going to require very few options out the door (maybe 918 seats) and will be a real monster - hard to say which GT3 is the better buy til we know the exact spec. In the past, the RS has always been worth the premium (with respect to resale) and this one is due to be the most extreme RS yet (with biggest performance gulf between itself and base GT3).

Tempting... It looks incredibly low, but it may be the way the bigger wheel tucks up into the fender more vs the GT3:

vs:

Wider rear ducktail and wind uprights vs the GT3- should help downforce too. It looks like they are venting out below the rear more significantly. Can't tell if it's running a diffuser. The wing is still at the ideal height to block the rear view mirror... regulations.

More front overhang? Lift kit may be...essential?

I don't think the overhang is greater, that's more a matter of perspective between the two images, but every picture shows the airdam significantly lower, so yes, it's going to be low...

Will be a car not to get in black. I wouldn't want to hide all the aero details/vent work.

Overhang looks similar, but since the ride height is a tad lower, will make scraping pretty common without lift.

The GT3 didn't "require" many options out the door either. It will be interesting to see if most RS owners can resist options like PTS, lift kits, PCCBs and the like. In any event, it's horses for courses; based on the speculation I've seen I can't imagine this RS being as practical for the street as the last iteration but it will indeed be a track monster. No doubt it will have the biggest performance gulf but it will also have the biggest price gulf by a factor of 2 so we'll have to see how it all plays out.

Tim's point is still well taken, IMO; regardless of the comparison to the RS, when matched up to loaded Carrera's, the GT3 is a bargain.
