Consolidated 991RS thread

A bit of history. For the MY2014 991 gt3 introduced at Geneva Auto Show in 2013, it was 'White':
When the .1 997 gt3 when that model was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006, the color was also in 'White' (back then in the old 'Carrara White'):
The .1 997 gt3 RS was announced in Europe in October of 2006 at the Paris Auto Show (and in the US in March of 2007). The debut color was the stunning 'RS Orange', one of two 'special colors' that model was offered in:
My educated guess is that, for the 991 gt3 RS this year at the Geneva Auto Show in a few days time, Porsche will choose 'Lava/Blutorange' to introduce this model to the world! :thumb up:

Correctamundo.
'Porsche' script (aluminum) in the front started to be used from day 'uno'...
In the rear of the 356, the 'Porsche' script and engine size started to be used later (I think around late 1952 or early 1953)...

PS : What a lovely shade of blue on that 1970 911E Targa. Owner must be one lucky dude!

Launch color
We need to move away from all white and black ... showrooms today are so boring! There are so many wonderful colors in the Porsche book - and Guru Eduardo does a great job in spreading the knowledge.
I walked around in the Stuttgart Porsche Center and there were 20 black cars, 2 white and 2 gray .... WTF?
Yes - it might be what the market wants ... but if the market only sees those colors of course it is only going to "want" those. Remember what Henry Ford said: "If I would have asked the customer he would just ask for a faster horse".
Show some of the fun colors!!!

Yellow 991 GT3
Had the opportunity to test racing yellow GT3. Lighter & brighter than my 1997 993 C4S. Really pretty! Think yellow could help car pop more than typical white, silver. Charcoal grey 997 RS pretty, but red mirrors, wheels & stripes killed it.
White w/ red mirrors not flashy enough IMO.

Might be considered heresy on this forum, but I like the idea of putting the Porsche crest on the back of the car, similar to what's on the front, in place of the word PORSCHE. It's clean, branding is there, but not obvious to those who don't know car models.
Below the crest would be a script with just "GT3"

Who needs lettering? If you don't know what it is, tough luck!
