Maybe we can get a group discount? I think it looks pretty awesome.

I think orange is great, but it's the reason 40% of them will be orange. I'm after something a little more unique.

Default 4.0

Metallic orange on 4.0 looks nice. Then again, once you go black.....

Rhodium is a red herring in that screen capture. Note the different date series vs ultraviolet and lavaorange.

I see a lot of people relinquishing their deposits after the confirmation of just 500hp....

...no actually, I can't. But many acted like they would have...

Assuming they keep the same basic engine, two obvious directions:

1. No displacement change and improved breathing. I'd think the finger rocker lifter should enable a more aggressive cam than we've seen so far, which with larger runners, etc could allow more top end power, perhaps at the expense of low end torque (maybe OK with PDK).

2. Bore the engine, perhaps using steel liners to ~104.6mm and 4.2 liters.

I might guess that the goal of either path would be ~520-530 hp. That power would be perfectly usable at a place like the 'Ring if you're skilled- the GT2 RS made 620 hp seem quite reasonable, and tire grip has been improving at ~1% per year since. Porsche seems to have made a conscious decision to make their cars easier to access to the average driver over the last generation, but if they chose to make something wild like the 2RS gen 2 tomorrow you'd expect well over 650 hp to be deploy-able with better usability than the original.

That shot might make you think it's metallic...but Porsche has not offered in recent years a true metallic orange! When 'RS Orange' (a solid color) was discontinued after MY2010 (available since MY2008 as PTS on other models), PAG started offering costumers that were interested in that hue a bright orange alternative they called 'Pastel Orange'. It is also a solid non-metallic color. Until recently (when 'Gulf Orange' was approved for PTS), 'Pastel Orange' was the only orange hue on the PTS list! That is the color of the PTS MY2011/12 gt3 RS 4.0 Limited Edition. There were several done in this color, including the one below which was owned at one time by Rennlister Graham Rahal (DesmoRR).

The color code for 'Pastel Orange' is Z17 and it is still available via PTS (if they get the program back up).

I’m delighted that Silver is one of the 2 GT3RS “Standard” Colors. It is my favorite Porsche color and has been the German “Standard" Racing color since 1932. German Race Car Manufacturers often used bare unpainted aluminum body to save weight. Seems pretty appropriate to me for the RS, Porsche's street car that comes closest to a race car.

There are only 3 orange (Z17) 4.0 out there..#304 which I ordered and subsequently sold to Graham 😟 the second one ordered by my best friend from Ohio after a few glasses of wine discussing if we should get the same color 😄and the 3rd ordered by a dealer in NY.

Second best color after signal yellow! Hoping to order the new RS in pastel orange which will look killer next to my signal yellow GT3 which will hit US shore this week!
