The rod fastener failure has obviously delayed GT3 production and deliveries and the intro to the RS BUT that doesn't affect the introduction of the 991 facelift, which is inevitable. This scheduled upgrade will limit the life cycle of the 991.1 GT3 and maybe cancel the 991.1RS all together??

There will absolutely without a doubt be a face lifted GT3 AND RS, that's better, meaner, faster and stronger. Yet again that's Porsche marketing and the strategy to keep you buying into the latest and greatest...
The 991.1 GT3 RS seems almost "done".
If a car is running with close to no carmouflage like we saw in the pictures, there is no more engineering to do.
They will bring the .1 RS when they finish the "road tests" and probably after the GT3 episode is over.

What happens with the .2 after MY 2016 is a different story and I think a long way down the road...

What are saying? That the .2 will not happen or that it will be delay beyond 2015?

Considering we've seen spy shots of the 991.2, it's going to have to happen. They're just barely drafting designs for the next generation of the 911, but before they get to that, there's no way they won't do a 991 mid-cycle refresh.

I'm hoping/expecting an unveiling of the 991.2 line mid to late 2015. *shrug*

The 991 RS certainly has presence.

I really hope porsche have some tricks up their sleeve for this car over the non RS GT3....

Front fenders are nice. Definitely carbon hood and roof. What are the chances of the turbo intakes going away? Don't see another intake.

I'd say zero. That car is basically done. There are some bits covered up for the eventual reveal, but otherwise there are no disguises here.

The wing and winglets are ugly. I'm sure it will be more streamlined when released.

Looks like wing uprights have some open space taped over and I suspect that at least the endplates will be a little more finished.

Looks great.
