Consolidated 991RS thread

I'm trying to count all of the 'my dealer told me' posts here.
Sure seems like dealers have no clue as they are all contradicting each other (one says VIP allocations count against, another says it doesn't, another says...well you get the point).
Reality is if there are 2 maybe 3 per dealer (185 dealers in US) based upon sales that will vary of course, I have a feeling it will be like GT3, heck many didn't wait a day for a GT3--bought one from cancel order spec.
First RS runs will be limited (just like GT3), but then people cancel, etc, etc and dealers will have some funky builds for sale. Just doesn't seem like rocket science--but it's fun to speculate all day.
By that time a new XYZ model will be speculated and the Porsche circle of craziness continues. I love it...
Damn I'm glad I got a GT3

I would say RS is more like a Cup vs. RSR. RSR is a completely different animal. I hope Porsche can start winning!

I agree. Think RS will be big step up from GT3 RS . Need to justify $50k sticker increase. Even 997 RS 4.0 MSRP less than 991 RS.
Look at high $ 997 RS bringing & many of those tracked hard. Think new RS will be keeper!!

I think if the new RS is $200k.. then the smart money should snag a 997 or 991 Cup. Won't depreciate due to track use and will offer more performance for less $$ and will have added benefit of more safety.
I am stoked on the new RS. Will consider one. Loving my new GT3.. leaps above 997.2 RS and I actually feel the PDK will be a huge value on the track (vs manual).. however it does make street driving a bit boring.. but I was able to sip my starbucks and drive to work today... haha.
