Consolidated 991RS thread

^ The GT3 really is that good on its own, yet after driving the 991 Cup car I really am looking forward to the RS but Black may be my go to color to hide the duct work, or maybe agate grey or maybe.........I don't know but I'm really liking the press photo and think the double bubble roof integrates much better than I thought it would the ducts give it that skunk works type look I love so much

Moving the inlet ducts from rear engine cover to rear fender has (on top of being more efficient) the benefit of creating a cleaner silhouette imo.
That might be the only thing more elegant than the 'plain Jane' GT3.

For me a special car, like the RS,MUST be special...
In blood orange with black parts, for me looks great, and i would love to have also some black decals(maybe available as an option)...so everyone search something different, hope they can satisfy all us...
Can't wait to see the press release,with colours,options and price,but at 80% i will go blood orange/black.

^ yep I'm excited, real excited! Thanks guys for putting this up, I'm now as genuinely excited as I was for my GT3. I think the RS really will separate itself from the rest of the 991 family in a really great way. Porsche has always tried for very special colors and I think this car will be no exception.

The duct work is one of my favorite features, especially the front fenders. I'd avoid black so they stand out against the bodywork. I'm hoping for a PTS, otherwise blood orange.

Blood orange is awesome with black accents. Almost makes me want to sell my .2 RS.

One 2c prediction: I think we were wrong in thinking the rear wheels are 21inches.. I think it was a visual error looking at mules.. My thought is that they are going to be 20inchers like the fronts... Different width obviously.

The RS is an over the top car and as such, I think the contrast fits it well. I'm going for blood orange myself, if I indeed get one. If provided the opportunity, I will only get it if the car is wider track (seems a given), has a 4.0 (which by now seems probable) and the base is around US$180K. I would like to see more than a 5 second advantage on the ring, though (according to Wikipedia, the 997.2 GT3RS was 7 seconds than the 997.2 GT3 so if the 991 RS has a 4.0, I would expect 10 seconds difference).

I think a few people saw the upcoming RS sizes on the Michelin website but I certainly hope you are right.

Surprised I don't see more Air Conditioning deletes. Isn't that even heavier and more of a drag on the engine when not 100% throttle?
I'll say it again, the coolest thing Porsche could ever do would be to display the actual weight of option right beside the option code.
