Today I was 100% guaranteed the 2nd RS slot by my dealer but they want the 991 GT3 traded in. GM said they have a meeting next month with the top guns and he hopes to have detail on pricing, etc. If the price is below $180K range I will consider.

Now that IS interesting.. Wonder why they want gt3 traded in.. Is that their guaranteed I come as they sell it for a surplus?

Silver, was there no one in the 2nd slot? Or did you bump someone because you're trading in the GT3?
As for the RS pricing info, this sounds promising and even more of an assurance of a possible Paris announcement. It's going to be quite the show if Porsche jumps in the announcement mix with the 458M and the AMG GT!

There is a page full of names on their list which includes GT3 mixed up with RS and I am all the way on the bottom of the page. Most of the listers just put their names down to feel good and when they get the call they are no show. They always give these hard to find cars to their return customers who are local. They asked for my 997.2 GT3 when I ordered the 991 GT3 and I really didn't have to turn in the car but I did as I knew it wouldn't see any action. I have not seen the RS spec nor the price. If the RS spec is unbelievable and the price is reasonable I will pull the trigger, meanwhile I am enjoying this beauty. I am just securing my allocation for the RS. The 1st allocation of these rare cars always goes to ONE person who I do not wish to name on open forum.

Silver, thanks for the info. I'm always interested in learning the ins and outs of the US allocation process regardless of manufacturer. I was surprised to see how the "largest" US Vette dealer created its Z06 allocation list last Friday by making a huge announcement and then taking names & deposits on a first come basis. I'm sure even under that process there were still a certain number of guaranteed spots already taken before the nationwide race to secure a spot even began.
