Default GT3RS intro

in the typically well-informed german PFF forum it is claimed that the RS intro will not happen this year in paris but the earliest in detroit next year (january). in paris porsche will show the pre-facelift GTS and some SUV.

wow, how come, I would have thought that the Dubai market would have easily consumed every car available ... were there a lot of customers that walked away over the engine issue?

I'd be surprised if there was a N.A dealer with that many on the lot!

Info regarding GT3 RS from German pff forum:

- 500ps
- no rear wheel steering (keine Hinterachslenkung)
- hood, roof and fender made of CF material (seems conflicting with Mg roof rumor)
- 918 seats
- 20 & 21' wheels
- less than 1400kg (I assume it is curb weight)
- 175000 Euro +
- 4.0L NA, PDK only
- 2015 Q1 launch
- has LOTS of downforce
- Nur lap time < 7:20

I find this hard to believe given that it's in the GT3 and the Turbo (same body) especially how it makes turn in so much sharper.

If you think about it, it actually makes sense.

Because of GT racing regulations, RSR/RS is not allowed to have RWS. Without RWS, it'll be a huge disadvantage for the RS in terms of performance (lap times) compare to regular GT3. And one way to make up for that is huge down force.

+1, might indicate homologation of the RS moving fwd, might also be related to tyres used and cornering forces generated and the ability of the RWS system to cope.

guys, is the pricing really going to start at 180K USD? I was always under the assumption that it would be about $150K USD.

No. No one knows. Everything is simply rumor at this point.

I'm hoping it'll be on par with prior GT3 RS's, adjusting for the 991 price increase (which happened across the board).
