I think prices are locked high and will only get higher for high quality relatively low production unique high performance ICE cars. By 2030 there won’t be any new gas powered Porsches available for sale at the dealership, 911s will be the last to leave production.. at this point prices will really go through the roof as the EV revolution sets in and production is completely over for gas powered cars. These cars will only become more and more valuable. For the first time ever specific gas powered cars are becoming a good financial investment! Lol. But honestly I think it’s true. We’ll see.

This assumes our global overlords will continue to permit us to purchase gasoline

This is human behavior at it’s finest moment let’s go buy all the gas when there’s no shortage, and by all means grab all the toilet paper while I’m out because Armageddon is here. I saw a Kia 10k over, and the noise fuels price gouging so many are getting what they asked for raked over the coals .......they’re just cars guys. Dealers feed off the drama, and why should they not participate in the money grab.

I understand the market.
$100K over may be the ask price, not the actual trade price.
Trading at $30-50K over.

They have been $30k-$60K over. It keeps creeping up. I was told this one sold within a week...

Just to review; Biden printed $10T and sent it into circulation and now you are surprised that there is inflation, the USD dropping against the Euro, and supply chain side disruption.

Why would you not expect prices to rise based purely on economic conditions?
Seems logical to me, not surprising.
This adminstration is creating a separation between Rich and Poor

I agree with this and see that I’m not alone. I will also add that I’m not old (is 40 old?) and I’m not a fan of the quick “digitization” of cars the past couple years (LCD screens being pushed everywhere), and also the particulate filter/ECO nannies. Everyone I personally know who is into cars has found older cars more desirable, because of these reasons.

I'm not the slightest bit tempted by the 992 GT3. To my eyes, the 991.2 is a better looking car front-and-back and has 99% of the 992's performance and far less of the digital gee-whiz-bang instrumentation.

I also see a number of 911R garage queens coming out for sale w/asking prices of $500k, though I'm not sure they're getting those numbers, which is crazy IMO.

I feel the same. And trust me I have a problem of always wanting something new. I can’t convince myself to want the new one.

What is going on with the G-wagon? I thought that car was universally regarded as ridiculous, and a fast one even more ridiculous. Ranked #6 in 6 of its class on C&D. Not much space inside. Depreciates like a stone. I can’t believe they sell at all let alone $95K over! What.

‘AMG G63’s have always been strong vs standard G

This seems to be the case from casual observation. A 991.2 GT3 with a plastic dash, standard seats, steel brakes, no nose-lift and no extended range fuel tank is not getting the lift a better* specced car is.

*more standardly desirable.....not judging!
