Kind of the perfect storm, people are flush with cash from the stock market to PP money. You got summertime demand with low supply and no new cars out yet. While guys are asking 235-275 on Autotrader for 19’ RS’s I don’t think they are selling. Who wants to pay 250 for a car that was selling for 200-205 4 months ago. Low mile 16’ RS’s were struggling to get buyers at 155-160 this past December suddenly are asking 200. I think your fine buying low mileage GT cars now but the guys overpaying for 15k+ mile stuff are gonna feel the burn when they go to sell. While I believe cars should be driven the biggest resale killer is mileage. This will correct end of summer going into fall. The ultimate correction will be when they open order banks up for 992 RS’s

With 50k+ ADMs for 992 GT3s, what makes you think 992 GT3 RSs will be any more available? I expect the same ADM's, if not more for the GT3 RS version.

If you look back over time this situation has repeated several times and with every generation 911. If a buyer purchases within his or her means in theory that person should not be overcome with depreciation anxiety no matter what happens after the buy. Unfortunately when some are ready to jump into one of these cars the timing isn't always perfect. There's nothing wrong with wanting a RS for 150K. Similarly, there's nothing wrong with someone buying one today at 200K. It seems crazy today for the buyer at 150 and normal for the one with the budget at 200. I remember wanting a new RS when the .1RS came out. Impossible to get a new one at MSRP and the lightly used were 20-50K over. I set my price I wanted to buy the car at (anything under MSRP for nearly new) and waited several years. In the interim I spent 50K more than the RS was, (even with the markup) on a new Huracan that I purchased 15% under MSRP. Eventually the .1RS came down and I bought one. Now they are back up again. I know it's a bit different today in this cycle due to the market impacting all cars. Nevertheless, if someone is reading this and really wants a RS or .2GT3, etc. and only has 150, just wait. Obviously there is no way to predict exactly when they come down but history indicates it does happen. FWIW, I can validate these cars are worth every penny at the price you're willing to pay. Cheers!

because guys always want the latest and greatest. There’s a lot of 991.2 RS’s sitting in garages with less than 5k miles who’s owner will want the 992 RS and just like the previous model they will pay whatever to get it. Porsche dealers love these guys. I wasn’t a huge fan of the 992 but after seeing it next to a 991 it makes the 991 look dated. Porsche did a heck of a job on the 992. The pics being released of new ones on Instagram really make a guy want one

^^^ You are misinformed. I have a 17 AMG G63 and am hounded by MB dealers every month with a strong number/offer.
This thing is a beast! Resale is the best of all/any MB! Always has been. It’s the only MB that has strong resale value.
Have you ever driven one?
I gotta set the record straight.

Agreed. I had every intention of swapping my 991.2 Manual GT3 for the 992.1, but the looks, added harshness on road, and more fragile underbody have swayed me back into holding my 991.2.
Plan to buy a 991.1 GT3 Cup to be the new track-only car.

I've read that a couple of places here and I'm not so sure. Yes I know that this stuff is absolutely subjective...

993 to 996 to 997? Yeah, massive evolutions for sure.
991 to 992? Ehhhhhh.....

If you think the GT3 prices are going crazy, you should see the housing prices in Florida...my house on Zwillow has hovered around $550/$565K for the last couple years and in just the last several months it now shows as $695K...that's a loaded C4S in just three months...things are getting crazy, which makes me think it might be time to go to cash in the market (stock market).

G63 is basically the exotic of SUVs... especially the 4x4, all the attention of an expensive sports car but you don't have to live with the drawbacks (low ride height, firm ride, no space for family)

In support of this theory, everything is up, but maybe nothing quite as much as the .2 GT3. If my car were listed today with equal miles vs. March 2020, ask would pretty clearly be 3X% more. (.1 RS's are up nearly as much.)

.2 RS looks to have received a 1X% bump by comparison.

As of today, there are !!!93!!! .2 for sale, this is now 3 times above average and cheapest is $172k. If you could sell now, take it and run, buy it back in 6-12 months for way less.

Actually the confluence of COVID related manufacturing shortages, Government’s enormous expansion of the money supply, and staggering National debt is a recipe for accelerating inflation. Too many dollars chasing too few goods. The price increases are not “real” as the profit realized cannot replace the item sold before the price increases further. Smart money is to hold on to what you own as far as GT3 is concerned.
